- @JOGAGATYA The only issue I had with bf1 and 5 is the setting, they're technically good games, I just prefer a modern setting with the ability to customise.
This should have been a next gen battlefield 4 with all the best additions made in 1and 5.
What we got instead was a cod warzone/apex legends clone thrown over a loosely fitting battlefield skeleton - @M4tt_Macabre I don't really think make a COD Dev the head of battlefield development bodes well for actual battlefield fans, it just screams more codlike gameplay to come
Is it that hard to apologize to your users, fans, fans? tell me honestly and apologize..you won't lose anything...(ea-dice)
@Rusty Rat
Well if BF 128 players conquest feel like COD to you i cant help my man because its not anything like COD .. While BF3 CQC maps were very close to be COD games without Killstreak ... just saying
While BF2042 conquest 128 is more like BF2 than any other battlefield made after it
BF2042
Versus BF3 CQC

I know that I have an unpopular opinion about this topic but I’m 100% with the Developers here.
And yes, the behaviour of some of the so-called veterans, so-called OG Fans and so-called real Battlefield Fans is ungrateful. I guess that these people are all grown up Adults when they playing the franchise for 10 to 20 years now, depending when they got into the franchise. But they don’t act like adults more like kids that got denied their candies. If they don't behave even worse than kids with their insults, threats and disrespectful comments.
Then the expectation of these so called "fans" that the developer "must" designed the game in the way they want it and not like the way the Developers sees it.
So, I ask you who are you that you have the right to request such things?
As a player, we can express our wishes and it is great if they are taken into account but in my humble opinion, we have no right that a game has to be developed the way we want it to be.
And the cherry on tops the beloved “content creators” and espacialy some “BF only content creators” which are so ungrateful to a franchise that has given them an income for years that some of them could easily live from.
Don’t get me wrong I have respect if you can make your living from your hobby like playing a game and entertain people with it but when you don’t like things do critique with manors.
But no, they get tangled up as if it is a personal affront to them that the game is now going a different direction.
And instead of admitting to them self “hey the game is not to my taste” they are mobilizing their Minion Army to start a shitstorm on a scale like we have never seen before and spread hatred and negativity on social media.
The reviews on some platforms are a farce and many of them are copy and paste because it seems to me that these “minions” are not able to build their own opinion anymore.
I have said this before and I say it again here, that I was and in some parts I still be ashamed to be part of this community.
It is incomprehensible to me that many here complaining about things that were never advertised and about things which were so clear after the public BETA.
Then still to buy a game if you already know in which direction it will go (and you know that you don’t like it) and then still have the expectations that the personal taste and preferences will be met. And then complaining that they have burned money... then I ask you, have you been forced to buy this game after information we all got from the Beta?
Then the complains bout that the developers are not changing and patching things fast enough and that they have gone on vacation.
I think BF2042 has more patches received in the first 5 weeks of release than any other Battlefield before.
Also, they have listened and gave us 64 player conquest and 64 play Breakthru.
Even then, many had nothing better to do than complain that the maps are garbage, the balance is stupid and so on.
Yes, it is a bummer that games have issues on release but I’m not able to design, program and realise a game.
With my little knowledge in programming, I know how complicated is to Program even the simplest things sometimes.
So, Patience is a Virtue and I’m willing to wait and give DICE more time.
Sorry for my rant but I think sometimes we all should be a little bit more thank full, also we are still talking about a video game.
See you on the battle field
I think that the developers rather hold back because the future of this game is uncertain. I believe that at EA they will precisely reevaluate the situation of the game and decide how much budget they make available for this mess.
And since the player numbers are declining heavily I could imagine that they will cut the budget to a larger extent. I mean EA wants to sell microtransactions and that is rather hopeless in a game which does not flourish. DICE has intentionally never made clear promises or comments about what is to come in the future. There will be seasons but in the end it is up to them and EA to decide what is appropriate to deliver.
I personally would not wonder if most of the seasons consisted merely of some skins and maybe 3 or 4 new guns (most of them melee weapons like in Battlefield 5). Better curb your expectations of getting lots of new maps. I predict that in terms of content there is not much to come. They might fix some bugs in the game and make the game “playable” but content wise it will be another Battlefield 5 at best.
- @CountSero Let me put it in another perspective.
You have bought and owned a car of a specific model for years and been more than happy about it.
Later on your car gets old and you want a new one.
Why not buy the new model from the same maker that has been advertised.
You go to the car dealer and see the new car. (game trailer)
It looks nice and reminds a lot about the old cars but with updated features.
You decide to buy it.
But then on delivery you get a bicycle because it's popular at the moment.
Should you not have the right to ask why you got something else than what you thought you ordered and paid for?
Or should you just use the bike and hope that they will turn it to the car you wished for in a couples of years? - CountSero4 years agoSeasoned Ace

It is more like you buy a car of the same brand and you don't get a navigation, only an analogue radio instead of DAB, no automatic windows or an AC and because your old car had these feature you expecting that your new car has it also. But in the end, you still got a car.
Battlefield 2042 is still an Action Shooter with Tactical Elements like BF2, BF3, BF4, BF1 and BF V nothing more and nothing less. The different is the feature set each instalment has delivered.
And what are the trailer showing what you don’t get with BF2042? Have you played on Hourglass with the Sandstorm and Tornada at the same time? Then you have the visual and the action you see in the trailer. Same thing with the action on Manifest, I have many fights around these containers. But hey every player has a different perception.
And as I said before since the Beta a person who was interested in BF2042 should know in which direction the new game is going. Since than we all know that there where many changes to the franchise.
And if you then still buying the game and expecting more than advertised is more your problem.

The game trailer never lied about the " specialist " or the design of the game itself .. All it was was a bit more pretty and seams to perform better ..
So yeah thats . Specialist and all the design was heavily show off as it is and its a pretty good game in many ways ..
Also portal was meant for the purist who wanted the older style classes and a moddable experience . but once again Players have been ruining it themselves with " boosting servers " to abuse XP gains and so on . Its not on DICE shoulders there - kregora4 years agoSeasoned Ace@CantGetRight I believe the developers were enticed to develop a game that couldn't be farther from the Battlefield formula imaginable.
Near the end of the development someone realized that the concept wasn't enough to give Battlefield a new direction, so they decided to take all the newly created assets and make something Battlefield like experience out of it.
So we should congratulate the developers for the efforts they made to create a Battlefield experience out of Battle/Extraction Royal assets.
Is it completed, far from it.
Did the developers deserved a holiday vacation? Hell yes!
I hope they were able to spend their time with their loved ones, relax, and charge their batteries, but there is a long road ahead of them.
Happy new year DICE
Please make a Battlefield that You and We deserve.
