I thought so too, I can only get a game or two in Conquest Large (128 Players), Breakthrough Small (64 Players) after 1 hours of queue approximately.
During the holidays, I leave it on matchmaking and I fell asleep on the couch, when I wake up, still matchmaking lol.
I'm a fan of Battlefield series since Battlefield 1942 and I bought the Ultimate Edition, darn it lol.

There are more of these threads appearing daily. As the player base has dwindled the MM problems have become more acute.
In my opinion MM is not viable and needs replacing to allow all players access to the game they paid for.
- @RayD_O1 I understand it could be the low player count issue and I don't really mind playing with all the bots and everyone can join after when they click on search. Just let me get into the game lol

- @RayD_O1 Played one match took me about 10-15 minutes to get into match. Nothing changed there. Should take a few minutes at most I believe. Once in match it was 9vs9 by the tikme
It was over last I checked it was about 15-18. I thought one reason was to fill servers when they removed 128? And player count I know according to steam is low. Don’t think it’s enough to bring players back. Season one better be huge or they should shut it down.
This would be the ideal solution. Just put people in a match with bots and just keep adding people as they search for a game.
I’m pretty sure that’s how they described it before launch so people can just get into games instead of waiting for servers to fill. Yet here I am in The UK sitting in screens saying 2/64 until the game kicks me back to the menu.
- @SMiT2710 I forgot where it was I saw but they did say game would start with bots until more players join but then I read that they said there has to be certain amount of actual players to start the match. They are lost as anyone. They get caught in their lies to much.
@RayD_O1Played earlier and player count around 1,700 both matches 32 vs 32. Now with player count about 2,300 cannot get into match at all.

That's really weird. I suppose the only logic you could maybe apply is, earlier when you were on playing the 1700 players included a fair number of players from your region.
Since then players from your region stopped playing and the 2300 went up because of players from other regions started playing, therefore MM can no longer find you a local match.
Does that make any sense. ?

It makes perfect sense. I thought the same. But we didn’t buy the game to play when the game decides it wants us to play right. Let me play with bots

You paid for the game and can't play it. !
DICE need to add a server Browser as MM is clearly not working.

I really hope MM is replaced In the coming update.
I can barely bring myself to even complete the weekly. Join game, wait in queue, join match mid-round with 2 pts left as defense on BT, to then be recycled back into another queue a few minutes later to play defense on BT again. It literally takes the fun out of the game before you even play.
For those that can't play you are not missing much right now.

- @RayD_O1 I tried to play infantry conquest but there was no one on. Then I stayed and played and one player came and left. Got the win lol. And got the 10k daily match points since I won’t be able to play later.

Had waiting for 31 players for the last 15 mins on xbox eu servers.

Yeah no wonder you feel that way mate, I would honestly say if they don't add a server browser soon there will be a mass exodus of all the remaining player base.
MM seems to be pretty much universally unacceptable in a BF title. and needs replacing if Bf2042 is to have any hope of surviving.
- @RayD_O1 To be fair it’s not just MM anymore. I played half a match when I got into a game. defending again as always. Lost of course. Second game defending again. Got killed five times in a row by vehicles within the first ten minutes. And I just closed the game. Just got tired of it and didn’t have any desire to play.
