Still getting one shot from all ranges from 50mm when I’ve taken any amount of damage. Usually without warning. Still getting blown to bits by 50mm while seeking cover inside buildings. I have to ask DICE if they are intentionally trying to drive BF fans away from 2042? Never in my life in any BF game have I seen any vehicle destroy game play for infantry like I’m experiencing with the Hind and Condor. 50mm has no place on any airframe in game, much less a flying tank that supposed to be a “transport”! - too much HP. Takes 4 or more hits from AT rockets to kill. That’s just insane. - ROF still allows for low skill multi kills via splash damage. - on top of a hefty HP pool, these airframes can be perma repaired. Repairing/teamwork is not the issue. Extremely high HP on top of being repaired IS an issue. - cooldown for flares is still too fast Doesn't feel like Battlefield. Feels like a never ending deluge of Hind or Condor AC130- CAS Simulator with occasional moments of Battlefield when these airframes aren’t present. Import the Blackhawk from Portal as a proper “transport “. Move the Hind/Condor to the attack vehicle spawn pool. Calling the Hind/Condor “transports” is a joke.

They are picked noticeably less often, which is almost purely because people were picking them solely for the 50mm and not to actually transport.The 50mm is still highly effective against concentrations of infantry and against vehicles. They managed to nerf it without making it useless in my opinion.Good change overall.I do not personally believe that the 50mm needs any additional changes at this current point.I do understand the argument for a blackhawk-esque transport where it only has chainguns and a ton of passengers. Perhaps that can be in addition to the Hind and Condor? We could use some new vehicles anyway, and also increased vehicle limits for 128 players.

A “transport” should NOT have any weapon that’s “effective against concentrations of infantry and vehicles” as you put it.That’s why we have attack helicopters! So on top of attack helicopters we also have the Hind and Condor farming infantry and vehicles. Add to that 30mm cannons on the Bolte, Recon jeep and Hovercraft. This amount of low skill splash damage and vehicle firepower is unseen in any previous BF title. 2042 gameplay for the average infantry player is suffering as a result. Move the Hind and Condor to attack aircraft spawns where they belong and give us the Blackhawk from portal as a transport.

@Zhukov211 I just played a few rounds this evening and was using the 50mm in a condor for about 10 minutes. It is massively less powerful than it was before. It would take 3-4 hits to take down a target, compared to the 1-2 it was before. Between that and the significantly slower shooting it is a pretty large nerf.With that said, I agree that it would be beneficial to just have the two miniguns, but I can't honestly imagine if the gun stays in the game, it being much less effective. It hardly did any damage to vehicles either.

It is supposed to be rock/paper/scissors, but if one team doesn't have rocks, then the scissors feel OP to the paper.Even if defenders got one attack helo, that would be better than zero as in most cases.On another note, they need to buff the Wildcat against aircraft slightly. A faster lock on and longer range would help.

The 50mm is still highly effective against concentrations of infantry and against vehicles. They managed to nerf it without making it useless in my opinion.

@Zhukov211 It's "effective", but not devastating. You took my wording too literally; of course an Apache would wreck concentrations of infantry and vehicles far better than the 50mm. My point is that the 50mm exists to fulfill this purpose *to an effective degree,* and having that option is good and healthy for the game because we don't want every piece of gear to always be set up exactly the same way. It is good for people to have variety in their builds because it spices up gameplay.

It's probably more accurate to call them gunships rather than transports.
I love the idea of a gunship since they combine a couple of things that make Battlefield great: teamwork + vehicles. We've seen them a few times in the past Battlefield games:
AC-130 player piloted (Desert Combat)
AC-130 AI piloted (BF4)
Zeppelin (BF1)
I don't recall any of those being particularly problematic so I think gunships can be made to work. The biggest difference between those past gunships and the 2042 versions is the manuverability plus smaller hitbox.
I'd hope that DICE can take a look at those past examples to try and figure out what works and what doesn't work for gunship design.

If you honestly think the AC-130 in BF4 was NOT a problem, then you have a VERY bad memory. For BF1, the Zeppelin was not as bad after infantry weapons were made more effective against it, but it was still a bad idea to have anything like that in the game (but for other reasons I don't want to go into as this has nothing to do with 50mm cannons on the Condor or Hind).

What exactly would you prefer air vehicles do or just vehicles in general? It sounds to me like you want them to be flying styrofoam boxes? I highly recommend Infantry Only game modes.

@llllKylo_Renllll 100% I would love to see a faster but far more vulnerable transport heli in the form of the BF3 Transport Heli. They really should port some of those vehicles across to 2042.

@S3SSioN_SoLyou still can challange AA and that is still a problem. AA has limit on how far it can get the gun and how fast. Transport shouldn't have 50mm at all.
