I use the super hind a lot and I keep getting hit with lock-on rockets even after firing the flares. It happens so frequently, even one of my friends noticed the same when they tried to fly themselves. @Enawy It's partially the netcode and partially that rockets will sometimes continue to fly in your general direction rather than doing a comedic 180. If you were hovering, or even not hovering but jiggling around the same area, you're more likely to get hit.The netcode issues are more noticeable with the APS on ground vehicles.

@Enawy Having just finished the weekly mission to destroy 3 air vehicles (I used Stiglas), I can confirm that flares work just fine.....

The only time I see this is if the heli is very close and the AA hits before changing direction towards the flares.Other than that it will be the games appalling hitreg/netcode server desync issues.

@Enawy You could also be locked on by a Soflam and an M5 rocket flying in your direction will also keep going on its last trajectory. Sometimes the AA will swerve around but the M5 goes dummy and just flies until it explodes.

@Enawy Hardcore jet pilot here and let me tell you the flares work properly as they should but remember not to stay hovering after the flares are popped because the missile will go in a straight line and hit you anyway...But if you're playing rapid strike game mode bf3 missiles go to the speed of light so dump the flares before they get a lock on...

@Enawy It's partially the netcode and partially that rockets will sometimes continue to fly in your general direction rather than doing a comedic 180. If you were hovering, or even not hovering but jiggling around the same area, you're more likely to get hit.
The netcode issues are more noticeable with the APS on ground vehicles.

@Ai-Fluffy Yup, I noticed that. I always pop the flares early when I'm close the launcher.
Also, stinger rockets are so fast and smart now, they go behind obstacles and buildings. So ridiculous.

@ATFGunr I started noticing it in the recent few weeks. I remember they used to work reliably. Now I get hit by the rocket so frequently, they must’ve changed something!
