From BF1 to BF2042, the GPU cannot be fully utilized due the CPU usage too high

Updated feedback when at Update 3.1
Generally:
1. In-game music is still feel bad;
2. PS4 and XBOX ONE cannot be played with platforms such as PC, resulting in the number of active players has dropped to near zero some time; I also understand that the main reason for this is bcz of the HertZ number of the server, BUT, is this game really better than BF 4?;
3. CPU usage is still an issue, Job Threads rise to 16 when update to season 3 (BF 2042), really terrible;
4. The client side should have the option to "Prefer network latency", allowing players to choose an acceptable delay for themselves;
5. The console interface of the Frostbite engine cannot be like the console interface of the Source engine.

User.cfg Content:
PerfOverlay.DrawFps 1 (* Manual Required)
Render.DrawScreenInfo 1
Render.ResolutionScale 0.75
RenderDevice.UseReservedJobThreads 0 (* Not Working)
Thread.MaxProcessorCount 6 (* Not Working and getting worst)
Thread.JobThreadPriority 3
Thread.MinUnusedProcessorCount 2 (* Not Working)
Thread.MinFreeProcessorCount 2 (* Not Working)
PostProcess.DynamicAOEnable 0
WorldRender.EmitterSunTransmittanceMapEnabled 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurEnable 0 (* Manual Required)
RenderDevice.VSyncEnable 0
RenderDevice.TripleBufferingEnable 0 (* Manual Required)
SimulationTime.MaxVariableFps 60 (* Not Working)

* Permanently unavailable in DX12 mode or games:
RenderDevice.RenderAheadLimit
* Deleted in BF 2042:
GameTime.MaxVariableFps
RenderDevice.Dx11Dot1Enable
RenderDevice.Dx11Dot1RuntimeEnable
WorldRender.FilmicEffectsEnable

** If you find that your CPU usage is unstable or reaches 100%, try turn off the In-game overlay; If you find that your GPU usage is unstable, try turn off Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling (also can stabilizes CPU usage).

  • @CoolWLKK The only way to reduce CPU stress is lower the player count or the response rate. People won't accept reduced played numbers below 64.

    Reducing response rate also means people will get mad because net code, hit registration etc will go down the drain.

    Look at BF4. People begged Dice to increase server tick rate because hit registration has been abysmal for 2 games in a row.

    So there aren't many options Dice can take, and all of them involve pissing off major part of the community

    @VME23It's better to say that the mouse input stuttering problem in BF2042, moving the mouse will have a sense of stuttering, which this problem should be called using too much job thread or not using performance core, 12th Intel i7 don't have those problem? But this stuttering problem started with BFV.

    Well, again, I didn't experience any mouse input stuttering in BF2042 and we are playing this game since Beta.

    Intel i7-12700k has 16 x 'Performance' Logical Threads (8 x Physical 'Hyperthreaded' Cores) and 4 x 'Efficient' Physical Threads ('Non-Hyperthreaded' cores) - while you're in the game, in fullscreen mode, the game engine is exclusivly handled by the performance threads and rest of the background apps + OS by the efficient threads. That happens only in Windows 11! Check the official Intel documentation to learn how the Intel Thread Director microcontroller was designed to work with Windows 11.

    If we are talking about issues with netcode, hit registration/detection, well that's another topic but that doesn't directly translate into 'mouse stuttering'. At the same time I'm not saying that there are no CPU load issues affecting older rigs starting with Patch 3.0 but that doesn't suppose to happen on a new / modern and optimized rig like Alder Lake under Windows 11. These new CPUs have a lot of power and resources to overcompensate the poor programming of Frostbite engine in BF2042 (if there is such a thing).

    While BFV was the last BF title released, I was playing this game with my old rig - an i7-7700k paired with 2 x GTX1080Ti in SLI, and I can truly say to you that I never experienced any lag, stuttering or input delays, at least not in the mid-game lifecycle while the game was pretty well optimized.

    @VME23  but if u don't have this problem, then other people with 12th Intel CPU should not experience this problem again

    Giving the above explanations, I don't believe the 'other people with 12th Intel CPU' are using their rig in an optimized environment - from a hardware and software perspective. Looking at the Steam Hardware survey for Nov 2022, we can see that the majority of people are reluctant to upgrade their OS to Windows 11 from Windows 10 (including the ones who are using a modern CPU - Alder Lake or even Raptor Lake). You do the math.

    @VME23 To be precise, the youtuber/creator of the video I watched was annoyed by the problem that with Intel 12th processors only had 90 frames and occasionally dropped frames, and I saw that his number of logical cores was 20, so I asked him to use "Thread.MaxProcessorCount 16" and solved this problem. (BFV only recognized 8 cores by default)
    In fact, to be honest, I don't care this, I'm just a player who reported the problem, and if u say so, then u should actually thank Windows 11 or DX12 for supporting large and small cores.

    @VME23 They raised the job threads to 8 starting with BF 1, and then going straight to 16 in the BF 2042 season 3. If ure pay attention before, BF 4 only uses 4 job threads in 2013-2015, history will also tell u that they usually work seriously only in the last month before the game launch.
