Grenade launcher issue/suggestion

Ever since bad company 1 you have been able to use grenade launcher to go trough obstacles or destroy certain objects, such as walls and trees. It's sad to see that in this game it's removed. I can't even understand why this change was made, but hey there are so many changes you would not understand in the first place in this game which many of them are fixed. Grenade launcher projectiles in this game is underwhelming and seems more like a firecracker than an actual grenade. Also if you stand too close to point of impact the grenade bounces, this is pretty redundant and stupid as the grenade will damage you anyways.

I hope this suggestion will be taken seriously, considering most would look at this as a tiny problem. But it definitely change how you play the game sandbox wise, you are not restricted to run around walls etc... When you instead can run trough them. It is really great, well was a really great battlefield feature that was completely unique to battlefield.

When it comes to this change i am a big question mark really, why?

  • Certain light walls/obstacles should be destroyable with GLs yes so that should be brought back. However thick concrete walls etc --> no, that doesnt make sense. Thats when you need AT or C4/5 explosives for instead.

As for this that you mentioned:
"Also if you stand too close to point of impact the grenade bounces, this is pretty redundant and stupid as the grenade will damage you anyways."

Thats a safety thing, within 20-30meters it doesnt arm and bounces off (like a real life GL would), HOWEVER it is done wrong in this game. If it bounces it should become a "dud" and not explode at all, just like how it was done in BF Bad Company 2. Right now as you say it explodes anyway and it should not do that. And its not meant to be used in close combat anyway, its meant for long range..

@JWGrasliWell i am talking about Battlefield and not how it's supposed to be irl. I don't even know if 40mm grenades are able to break a wall or not, i could care less as i care more about the gameplay itself.

In my eyes since bad company 1 that sort of destruction is as much part of any modern battlefield game as scoreboard is the minimum thing to expect from a fps game. They strangely enough didn't think scoreboard was important but they was wrong, i cant for the life of me even understand how they could have thought that in the first place. At least they fixed that.

There is very little focus on destruction these days, but i will say they definitely improved terrain destruction in this game making holes much bigger again.

The game itself is getting better and better with the changes they are reverting and doing. At release it's kind of like it would be a late beta of a battlefield game.
