Gyro Aim gives "Mouse-like" Aim for Controllers, Devs plz look into this :(

Would love to see BF franchise get a decent implementation of Gyro Aim for controller players (Im on PS5) similar to MW3 and Fortnite.  Its a much more intuitive input method than analog stick aiming:

And your ability to not only flick but also your right thumb has much more freedom to hover over face buttons, thus allowing for a LOT more mobility similar to keyboard and mouse players without losing your aim (bunny hopping, drop shotting, etc).

Im performing this with the use of Acceleration on PS5.  This is a similar concept as Raw Accel that mouse players use.  This is allowing me to access higher Sensitivities without losing steadiness--quite simply, I can cut out jitters.  Ive only recently adopted this higher level of Sensitivity but all this gameplay is me barely moving my controller.  My physical movement is about the same as a mouse player.  Im not even lifting or using my arms.  You can actually see this with this player on Counter Strike 2 who uses a handcam:

Granted, this higher Sensitivity that I use in MW3 is not for someone who is new to Gyro Aim.  But it easily shows its potential.  And all this is done with ZERO Aim Assist.  Its a much more fun gameplay experience imo for couch controller players.

Please strongly look into this and would love to see it implemented.

  • An awesome idea.

Gyro aiming has been suggested countless of times for a much more fair input crossplay competition. I wonder how long it will take before devs finally see that this is currently the best way.

However I'm afraid that they won't do this, as that would require the vast majority of players who are playing on console with a controller to learn some actual aiming skill. They'd rather cut corners, take the shortcuts and give them a false sense of being good at aiming with a built in softlock aimbot in order to keep them playing and buy more skins.

The dumb part is that they clearly don't understand that what actually makes a game fun and satisfying is not getting undeserved wins handed out to you, but becoming the best purely on your own merit.

  • @KunstulaSo the interesting thing here is that the Nintendo consumer base, its almost required to have Gyro Aim at this point. I would say this was partly due to Breath of the Wild and Splatoon 2 having Gyro Aim being pushed a bit heavier by default along with Joycons not offering the best of "stick" controls about 5 to 7 years ago.

Now, the devs of Splatoon stated that over 70% of their consumer base uses Gyro Aim...a game where its sequel sold over 13 million copies. So that says a lot. And you can see it often on those forums where its the standard to aiming and pushed heavily.

Plus, I have seen many reddit posts be the number 1 post on PS5 and the main r/Gaming forums about games that have Gyro Aim. This was prevalent around Horizon and I even had a post that took off mentioning God of War Ragnarok having Gyro Aim.

I agree with you, the community is not a majority when including all console platforms to say the least. But I would bet that theres a pretty large minority at this point of people who want it and or use it already.  More than enough to warrant the push by devs to start implementing.  The only crappy part:

Xbox controllers are the only controller (including amongst 3rd parties) to NOT have the Gyroscope technology.  Hell, even mobile devices have it....
