Have you an 2042-tuned SBX-profile (Sound Blaster)?

Hi All,

I use quite good headphones (not headset) together with Creative´s Sound BlasterX G6.

The BlasterX Pro-gaming team havent create any dedicated SBX-profile for BF, which I find strange considering several smaller titles in their library.

So now i wonder if anyone in the community have created an own one, would like to share which other profile they using, or refere to any other source where this question is discussed.

  • Today I learned that Sound Blaster still exists!

Probably quite a few on this forum remember, and like me, had the original SoundBlaster sound card, back in the early 90s  It was a major step up from the PC Speaker!!

Thanks for that trip down memory lane!

    Ohh.. the AdLib card also.

This was back in the day where you had to select your sound card, at the start of games, so the card would work.   I created a program (what Apps used to be called lol), in assembler, that could determine what Sound Card you had, which would have removed the need to select your card.  I never approached any person/company to license the code.  What a loser I was!

The assembler coded program ended up becoming a full on "what is your computer" program.  I enjoyed writing and using it (I was always being approached to help folks with their PCs - anyone who was an early PC "expert" became that Support person for their entire family, their friends and anyone else who found out you were a "computer person"

Too bad I lost the program over the years.  Too many computer failures - A lightning storm decided to kill my original PC, even though I had unplugged it from power.   I thought it was isolated.  I forget the phone line that was plugged into the modem card.  That let a surge in that fried the computer, but also the monitor.

After that I had a "server" level computer, with 4 hard drives that become 3 drives using RAID, with the 4th drive the one that could be used to recover data if one of the primary drives failed.   That drive (and a primary one) both died from a storm.  Lost everything.  Again.

The joys of early PC days.
