@TTZ_DipsyI'm fine with them adding dirt and grit to specialists and changing the tone of some of their lines from, "War is so fun! YOLO!" so they still have some personality but actually feel more tonally apt for the whole, "World has sorta collapsed and we're using mercenaries to fight our wars." type deal.
But that's all cosmetic. Good, but cosmetic. I'm wondering if there is, or was, any intent or desire for addressing mechanical designs of specialists given the widespread negative feedback on them. It doesn't seem so given what Lis's kit ended up being (though at least it included some gadget lockouts which is a step in the right direction IMO), but maybe they designed it that way knowing that they were going to update her kits design when they started working on the rest of the passive/active abilities for specialists or something.
I'm mostly wondering if the actual mechanical design is ever going to be touched, or if this is the extent of the "rework" we should expect with specialists in 2042.
Edit: Can't say I'm optimistic about communication ever improving though. Again, not trying to blame the CM's or be jerks to them or anything because it's extremely likely it's their bosses who have duct taped their mouths and forced them to wear giant gloves so they can't type anything, either. But it's frustrating knowing that DICE has always struggled on communication, seemed to actually realize that their consistently poor communication was a problem when things were at their worst in 2042, but still don't seem to be making meaningful improvements in this regard over time. Especially as the game is getting closer to "alright" and they can sorta fall back into the usual routine again.
