as a developer of 20 years, i guarantee you that detecting cheaters is absurdly easy. the only reason you have them on games since FPS games came out is because every time a cheater gets banned, EA makes $$.putting the responsibility on the players to report the cheaters is so pathetic. i bought this game couple of days ago and after 2,3 games i really regret it. the only way to stop cheaters is to stop playing EA games until they lose so much money that they have to act. but even then, after a while the circle starts from the beginning because in the end its all about $$.

Blatant cheaters should automatically get flagged and given at least a temporary ban until it can be reviewed by an actual person. As other here mentions - either they pay for super cheat code or they use stolen accounts.All we can do as players is to report the suspected cheaters and hope for the best. BF 5 and BF 1 - now those games has a severe problem with cheat. BF 2042.... I do not think it is that bad. I do get killed where I think hmm ok ??Some are good at exploits - like the spawn beacon bug (that one puzzled me big until I saw that on youtube - what a bug !!).Some teams are just good and do what game is about - cooperation - team work is key in this game.Buttom line compared to BF 5 - this game suffers way less from cheat !

@UP_Hawxxeye I don't believe that is a solid assumption. As you said the worst cheaters have ways around this and won't even get caught, they spend their money on cheat software and stolen accounts not on EA. The ones that get caught and get banned most likely give up on this game and try their luck elsewhere instead of reinvesting in this game again.If EA would really make money out of banning cheaters they would do much more effort and do so, as we all know how much they like money.

Dont forget that a lot of this “cheating” is NOT cheating but related to netcode, region violation, no ping limit. When you die is it instant death - behind cover ? More than one person that killed you ? I often see this massive delay and it is not at my end. Next round could be total different. deny access from know vpn sites, enforce region control and have ping limits on setvers. Asia or US has no business on a Europe server !

I am sure the solution that you have coded and tested on a huge variety of hardware,software, and OS's will be worth every penny to EA when you sell it to them. Heck, are we talking Industry Standard in how long? Days, hours!? Also guessing that the software will never have any kind of update or even have a single conflict or issues with performance. When can we expect the press release?

But from what I hear, the worst cheaters are just using stolen accounts.

Detecting cheats has nothing to do with hardware or OS, its just software based. Just look at all those cheater videos on YT, as a developer you exactly know what values you have coded for distance, aiming, moving and whats basically possible ingame. Just monitor those things and as soon as someone is off those speccs....
how hard can it be to detect someone who is aming at A but killing B?

@av3sto See my other reply. I hardly think they make any money on that. The rationale will be that they don't want to SPEND any money on anti cheat.

They will have conducted a cost benefit-analysis on developing/buying anti cheat measures and concluded it does not bring enough additional revenue to justify the investment.

if so then why is there only "a way around" when it comes to gaming software? why dont you have such things on software where you can actually make/steal real money?
no they wouldnt, bcs if you ban someone instantly they wouldnt come back anymore (no dopamine) but if you leave a tiny gap open, let them play for a while and then ban... its the dopamine rush that makes cheaters buy again. since counterstrike 1.6.
