I've worked in IT for a while and we have to provide outstanding customer communication to our customers, because if we don't, they leave. Guess we can't do that, but wouldn't a billion dollar company want to provide good customer experience anyway? Would it be so terrible to spend a couple of dollars to update us here on what's happening? I'd be fired in a week if I was this bad at communication.

I still do work in IT and it is still expected to maintain communication. We couldn't afford DICE style of communication.
