Well, I am German and we are notoriously bad at English, but when it comes to the Swedes, they speak a pretty decent English (judging from my 1st hand experience traveling those nordic countries). No, it's definitely NOT the language barrier. How hard can it be to understand what we mean by 'give us back the core features' -- they don't even have to read what we write but rather look back at those older titles and implement what was there before.
And I fully agree -- the 'great sandbaggening' (a term coined by Enders) cannot be too much effort, especially as they reuse assets that exist and just have to place them on the existing maps. For elevation changes, the same is true and even with the worst of level editors should be doable in a pretty short time. And they already SHOWED the rework of Kaleidoscope and Renewal, so, this is was already more or less 'done' more than a month ago. Why this is not out is really hard to explain, even if there would only be one sole developer left working on the game.
To me, this just feels like a cheap BF clone. It has common game modes (currently 3x Conquest in AOW for some reason), but that is about it.

What makes this even more strange is the fact that the marketing people (those that created the rather awesome trailer) knew EXACTLY what their player base wanted. The made the trailer in a way to to appeal to those players that were with the franchise for many iterations and were longing for some kind of return to the good old BF4 times.
So, they have proven with the trailer they KNOW exactly what the vast majority wants. But they still decided to deliver something completely different. You cannot sue them for false advertising I guess, but this clearly was a perfect example what constitutes such a thing. - RMEChief4 years agoLegend@DuaneDibbley They tried to go hero shooter with new game modes where Hazard Zone and BR were the primary game modes. Once they realized that it would not go over well, they tried to convert to traditional BF and it failed. The maps all look 25% done with only one major area with any level of detail (Breakaway = oil rig, Hourglass = stadium, etc). The other areas of the maps could've been built in a few weeks. Why would every map, in different parts of the world have the same door knobs/access panels? Things like that. Zero attention to detail.
