I'm no expert in the subject, but today, when I was setting it up the game for the first time, I recall seeing an option to enable crossplay. I believe it did not say that word exactly, but that was the idea. I enabled it and I have been playing with PS players. No XB so far.
Also, I consider that you need to provide more context to better understand the issue.
While in the game, are you searching for your friends, using the overlay from Steam, from Origin, or are you searching from within the game?
You may know this, and if you do, just ignore it, but I ask because I bought the game through Steam as well.
So, my point is that if while in-game, if you open the Steam overlay to search for them, they will not show up, because, as you know, Steam is for PC players.
You got to use the in-game social option. I don't think Origin's overlay will work neither. Well... not sure. I have not tried it.

Im having the same issue as well everything is on I can see console players, but my friend who is on xbox series x who I play warzone with and has crossplay on cant be found using the ingame invite system.
