shooter for the majority of its lifespan. I believe that’s what set the BF franchise apart and kept millions of fans engaged. It’s clear the BF franchise is going a different direction (chasing the COD model in my personal opinion) with these ridiculous characters. Most could live with the “specialist” if we could customize their looks and then pick our gadget.. but the current “cheeseball” options have caused many to just give-up hope on BF. Look at the soldier on the cover of this game (what most hoped for) then look at the actual specialist in the game.. kinda sad to the core fans of BF (including me). “I climbed Mount Everest and it’s been all down hill from there”Ya get it.. Devs?

Their greed to monitise whacky skins will kill the Battlefield franchise. Hopefully they aren't so blindsided to realise this, but it wouldn't surprise me if they are.2042 can go burn in a dumpster where it belongs.

@CLEMSONU That's right! Look at the guy on the cover! That's Battlefield! It's a military style conflict with a military attitude and tactics, not some cute girly girl in a wing suit swinging her hips and bragging about how many kills she got! This weeks challenge reward, a cowboy suit!

Now that you just mention it.... I didn't pay attention but really the soldier on the cover of the game looks more like the ones from BF3 and BF4. It has nothing to do with the speacilist inside the BF2042.

@AJ_Clickz The dumb thing is they could monetize the hell out of the game with realistic military uniforms instead of whacky skins and people would buy them.I wouldn't normally buy skins but I would sure as hell buy an Aus military uniform pack, and uniforms for other countries. All this would easily work within the scope of the games lore - just have certain countries set as either allies of the US or allies of Russia.It would make more sense than a billion dollar frigates rolling around the high seas being operated by stateless citizens sending their only 15 warriors to do battle for both sides of a world war fighting against clones of themselves.

People will just accept it, the will fix the game enough add some maps etc and people will say thats good enough.Just look at the reaction today when it was announced rush would be added back everybody happy on the subs. They destroy the core game, add garbage specialists etc yet they sprinkle some breadcrumbs and people accept it. The only chance of change is if people properly walk away, and leave them no choice but to change it

I honestly miss Battlefield being a military style

@Ga-Knomboe_Boy I too would buy some realistic military style cool skins/camos/apparel.. but I literally haven’t played BF in over a week because the forced specialist are soooooo bad. It just feels like a childish arcade style simulation instead of a true BF game.

@CLEMSONU Me too. I love the changes and options that specialist brings to the game but we know now that the skins definitely wont be military in nature. Why would they think we're more interested in a cowboy than a soldier?

The emphasis on the "Hero" part of the experience is a real let down. BF4 wasn't a true mil-sim either but it felt a lot closer to it than 2042 does. More guns, more gadgets but with more restrictions on combinations, more upgrades for vehicles that more accurately mimic near future capabilities like APS.
It feels like 2042 is purposefully shallower in those areas to even further emphasize the impact of the abilities of which "hero" you play with.

Well, I think this scene from the Simpsons sums it all up. They would trade all their "legacy features", military background in for a little more. However they failed. :D
