I liked it in battlefield 2 when there was no indication where things came from you had to have a headset on to hear the grenade and you had to figure out where the shot came from it made the game more immersive than most think, also while we are at it, explosives should not disappear when you put too many down, it was fun when you had to look out for your own mines. @blsdwarriorI hope they are in the game. The flash is a balance to the snipers, easy to understand

your basically talking about hardcore mode, i doubt the things you mentioned wont be in the game. Hardcore mode sure, go crazy, but most players would want those above mentioned effects in game, to play more easily, or normally

Sniper glint should be after firing, time based or distance based. The idea at 50m a player needs glint to avoid being shoot is ridiculous. As for grenade indicatior it is a solution to problem that never existed. If you can throw C4/TNT and not have a indicatior why do grenades. I have seen many complaints about hand hold features like 3D spotting but apparently glint and grenade indicator are not on their list. To me it is like the complaints on explosive spam yet RPG or C4 are not part of that spam.

While annoying, without sniper glint, server will be full of snipers though, especially considering the map size increase and no weapon restrictions now on classes/specialists, I'm not sure if servers full of snipers will make bf more fun to play..

I hope there are no grenade indicators or sniper glare this time

Of course they would. Players that run up to snipers to have a gun fight 2' away, should celebrate kills like a tank vs infantry.
PS I'd personal place my sofa and stand right behind it or perch on a rock like a proud sniper, so I'm not worried about me, but whats fare for the other sniper.

@blsdwarrior How about a hardcore mode or ability for admins to modify these as they see fit? Grenade indicators & sniper scope glare are more newb friendly things, whereas removing them appeals to the hardcore players looking for more of a challenge. Going one way or another limits how a portion of the players get to play the game. Why not allow for both so the player can pick their experience?

@DiceUprise for a game where you can 3d spot all players in a single click seem a bit of an overreaction it was also because of the scary monsters in BC2. BF2 had bigger maps and less sniper problem why commanders that could spot and killer snipers.

I will also hightlight that quick draw bolt action was a common weapon in TDM in BF3. Many things have changed since then BF4 procon limiting DMR and BA to just 4 out of 64 yet glint was still there along with complaints about to many Recon.

Glint to me seems more to punish playing snipers.

Lol, you should have seen how bf2 worked, before these indications battlefield 2 had non of these and it required skill and memorization of the map to understand a snipers location and how to survive a shot, if you play COD Warzone the people who slide and run uses the same techniques that were employed in counter sniper works in battlefield 2 only those that really took the time to get good at battlefield 2 would over come and destroy a sniper, thus sniper glint is unnecessary.

@Icemangooo the whole point of a bigger map is to have more places to hide, besides with vehicles and objectives a sniper only adds to the chaos, if entire teams choose to play with sniper class then they may be missing out on objectives as a sniper is very immobile since their only prerogative is to maim a team and can not stop a flow of vehicles and infantry to take an objective. If your worried about a sniper then you truly have not understood the games objectives in conquest. Your team has to win if you die to sniper over and over then you should stop trying to take the same objective and go somewhere else, or deal with the problem at hand by solving it, sniper glare just takes away that decision making.

@HappyHourSumwur yeah but are we really teaching our new found friends good gaming habits, i recall older games being harder to complete compared to todays games, and that's what made them fun, no one plays single player on easy mode if your already accustomed to most of the controls, so why should you do it in battlefield? its all out war the point of the game is to employ different strategies and learn from your mistakes, if you can find a sniper by glint are you really learning? I know for a fact that with warzone when i look for snipers i just look for the glint instead of checking for hiding spots, so what happens when machine guns take the new meta and there is no sniper glint? any ways i think your hardcore mode does have some merits, but im talking about common sense of the game which is all out war. But how many servers do you think there will be that have the perfect game settings for me, or you. probably not many as we all have our favorite type of gameplay, but i think EA has succumbed to the needs of those who whine and takin away an awesome gaming experience that requires skill and determination to overcome.

@FearNoTears yeah but remember hardcore mode servers also change your health amount and other subtle differences which make it an entirely different game, personally i like non hardcore for the less realistic experience and i don't think removing sniper glare is actually a hardcore feature, i think its a handicap that only teaches us to look for a glint instead of checking our surroundings.

@ninjapenquinuk I find the glint mechanics in BFV most unfair. Only the recon class has glint on their scopes, assault and machine guns don't.
I haven't played BFV recently, but in the beginning machine guns were precises like a laser, and could take out every bolt action sniper easily.

Long range pot shotters are probably the biggest complaint in all of Battlefield (next to anti-cheat) and I'm sure there will be a lot of angry folks out there if DICE were to remove glint outright. While I don't want to see it gone completely, I wouldn't mind a few tweaks to the formula - things like previously suggested distance based glint could work; with the new "plus" system, snipers should be able to switch to iron sights to negate the problem too which is nice
