Also they seem to detonate underbarrel grenades so if you are under its effect, the grenades you fire will explode in your face instead !!
Suppression systems that use halon are quite commonly used in computer rooms, etc. and I'm sure that's what they are trying to model here. It doesn't leave a residue which protects electronics from being further damaged. When the agent is released it can be very cold causing frostbite, etc. but it doesn't leave a residue which can cause further damage to electronics. It is really unhealthy to breath though and not just because of asphyxiation.
We had them in our computer rooms at the electronics company I worked at for 30 years before I retired. There were warning signs and even alarms with flashing lights specifically to alert people not to enter that area if there happened to be an event that triggered the system.
.....but I guess these days halon is being phased out in some places due to its ozone depleting properties in favor of more friendlier CO2 systems, etc.

@Kean_1111well, putting it in the game was a * move on their part....well, it's not like I was defending its inclusion in the game but on the list of bad moves in BF2042, this falls way down on the bottom of my list. I only bought this game for Portal personally.
