Idea to influence the shape of the next Battlefield title.
People generally agree on a game base that is close to what BF4 was when it got years of support.
But the pessimistic part in me does not expect them to listen to us. They tried to reinvent Battlefield for 3 times in a row with ever decreasing success.
The next game is definitely in development for over a year now and they seem to want to keep specialists in some capacity which can only mean one thing
Sadly the trendy thing to do in the entertainment industry these days is to pick up a big brand and mold it in your image and then blame the customers for not liking it.
Someone from DICE already made a statement that went like that:
"When we look back at the data, and when we really started moving forward with introducing the class systems, one of the big things we really started to understand was that a lot of our issues came from the fact that players didn't understand how the Specialists were supposed to work. And if you don't understand how something is supposed to work, of course you believe that the old way was better. Feedback from players was really good around this. So we had to find a way to give them what they wanted, but still allow us the freedom and flexibility that we originally wanted too."
This highlight how Battlefield 2042 had some serious issues with getting the "Product-Market-Fit" done right
I hope they will take "Product-Market-Fit" much more seriously for the next BF game.
People who pick Battlefield, want to play Battlefield. Not CoD, not Apex, not Fortnite and not Tarkov.
PS: I believe that Battlefield's post sale income should had been more centered around renting better, premium servers than overpriced hit or miss cosmetics. I definitely fancy some cosmetics but there is too much focus on them while they are also too diluted over the specialists or specific guns instead of being universal skins.
