Ideas for Hazard Zone

Hi everyone, I would like to discuss a few ideas on what Hazard Zone could implement to create a fun experience which could last a long time if done correctly. I have played plenty of Escape From Tarkov to understand how extraction games work. I understand that Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone isn't trying to be Tarkov but a few features could be implemented to make this mode fit into Battlefield and succeed.

First of all I'm hearing a lot of content creators say the time to kill and economy in Hazard Zone doesn't work. For expereinced player they need an item they can spend credits on which is expensive but rewarding. I think different types of armour could be used to make gun fights longer and make players work towards something.

New players to Battlefield will have trouble saving up credits to buy new equipment because they die alot. This can be resolved with a solo scavanger type of character you can play as with a random loadout. This character you can play looks like the AI and can extract at their own extraction point away from geared players in squads. The payout using this character isn't as high as using your main specialist but at least new players can gain credits to buy a basic load out. Of course the random loadout will be limited to harder to use weapons so they avoid gun fights on squads and focus on credits. For example only having access to the pistols and basic armour. It would also be a risk reward situation for your random loadout to go after data drives but can only carry one to make it less centered around using the random loadout over a real specialist in a squad. To make this more balanced a timer could be applied like Tarkovs scav system to reduce the amount of players trying to use a random loadout to PVP.

The next thing I'm not sure about is only having two extractions available in one match. I think it would be better to make all team only be able to extract if they get from one side of the map to the other and all teams can extract. A timer can be put in place to make sure players don't exit the map instantly, this makes it so players can choose to have fun farming credits or go for PvP engagements. Of course this will depend on the players wealth in the game and play style, this alone could solve the issue with newer players finding it harder to gain credits.

Lastly if these changes were to be implemented credits need to be harder to get or surtain items need to be more expensive.

This is what I think could be implemented into Hazard Zone if its not what people are happy with. But of course I hope for the best with this mode, my feedback is based off what i have seen and feedback Youtubers have given I have only observed what other games have done to solve the issues presented.

Best of luck to you DICE.

Kind regards,

Lotaze

According to the Eurogamer review today the biggest issue with HZ is that Winning=Winning

So if one team wins they get all the credits to buy better equipment, so more chance of winning again, then they win again they get even more etc.

The reviewer said he was essentially getting sniped at spawn and he didn't even have the chance to counter as he couldn't purchase a sniper for that round as the top team could only buy them.
