- CopperHead_BE4 years agoSeasoned Rookie@OskooI_007 The maps are horrible, look at the map with the rocket, it has a basement that is not being used... That is litteraly a manager coming to the map designers, saying "Ok it's good enough, you need to start on the next map now!"

.....a lot more than I know they are willing to do. Personally, I could care less about the scoreboard and quite frankly, VOIP (while important) isn't an issue either since I always play with my own group of friends using the PS party chat. ....but none of that changes the new, more wild nature of the game, the cartoony hero characters, sci-fi gadgetry, missing modes, lack BF levels of destruction (which by the way they had initially said would be improved), etc., etc.
The thing is, the franchise had been moving away from what I wanted for some time now. BF1 was the last game in the series I purchased and even then I waited for a steep discount. I passed on BFV and was expecting to do the same with BF2042 after I saw the rumors weren't true about drawing heavily from past BF titles like BF3. ....but then Portal was announced and that was the only reason my friends and I even considered it.
Portal is all we play and I don't see that changing (for us at least) just because they add in a few "legacy" features. ..but I hope they do and that helps others find enjoyment in the game as that could ultimately help Portal in the long run.
To be blunt, the only way I'll be interested in another BF game will likely come with the introduction of a new one. ....and that's only if they abandon this new direction they are taking the franchise.
- @Kean_1111 I have always wanted a remastered BF2 with the same features it came with. Along with 2142.

- @SirBobdk I was kind of disappointed in BF3 when it first came out because I wanted it to be like BF2.
- Kyosji4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Kean_1111 I don't feel the score board would be too difficult. The layout is there and the names per team are in the game, they'd just need to tie the kill/death/score to it, which if they didn't scramble the code in a rush, shouldn't be too hard to impliment next to players data.
VOIP is also supposedly somewhere deep in there as well. I see info on it in the options screen. May be as simple as flipping a value to enable it
Even the specialists I can't see being too big a change, depending on how you lock it off to certain functions and just treat them as skins rather than skills.
The rest would be an issue because it's simply just empty air. - SirBobdk4 years agoSeasoned Ace

I had more problem with BF4 although many today think it is the best.
I have only played the beta and was disappointed with many things but not really with the maps even if many say so. Still need more cover.
It felt a bit like in the past where it was a vehicle game on big maps. In that respect, I think it looks like the old BF I liked. I look forward to trying again.

With around 270h in I have fun with BF2042 and I play 99% of the time 128p conquest.
I don't mind if there is VoIP or not but I think it is 100% needed for Hazard Zone (playing with randoms is not really possible!) and maybe it could also be useful for some Solo players in Conquest.
I don't care about a "classic" scoreboard for me it is forcing the wrong kind of Teamplay.
Yes, a Server Browser is a nice to have but I would like to see more option to config the Matchmaking like a list for the maps and mode you want to play to create a kind of your own rotation.
I hope a server browser returns for those of us in low population regions so we can still play during off peak hours.
End of screen option to see our own stats would be nice too.

I enjoyed the expansion packs more than the base game and as soon as 2142 came out I never went back to BF2.

Server browser is a must. Matchmaking is just depressing.
