This new update... Yeah, wasn't much, again...- Balance is still all over the place: its K30's, Avancys or M5 with a specific setup and the rest just doesn't cut it.- Map playlists broken, haven't been able to play the new Renewal map after 20 matches in or more- Gunplay still meh, even though mouse input has been improved- The gameplay style in general is boring, squad gameplay non-existant in most games- Still have lag issues, not on my side or so say the networking graph- In general: its just unfun to play because it still feels like an early access F2P game- Doesn't "feel" like a BF game even though skins did bring back the aesthetic of itBasically, 1 year nearly after release, it still runs horribly and the improvements are too small. Combined with a general lack of content, its just too exhausting.Time to move on.

It not just that, Was in Breakthrough there were a few vehicles out. Waited ages to get into a tank/jet then the missiles were bugged out on the jet they would not respond to controller inputs on XBSX.You can't tell when enemies are around you until they gun you down, you cannot heat vehicles approaching from distance, there is not enough vehicles available to choose because people moan, they are overpowered and there is too many of them.The weeky challenges are tedious forcing you into game modes or characters you do not want to play. Vehicles in general are like paper, pretty useless against infantry. They are also underpowered, look at the transport main gun, total waste of time, MAV weapons are pointless, no splash damage from hardly any vehicle weapon and Dice think they know how to so Battlefield?

I agree. It is exhausting, but because I paid the full premium price, I feel obligated to max out the use of the battlepass, and it is an extreme chore. Things are all over the place, low content, cheaters running rampant. I am losing fuel to continue playing any longer. One thing is for sure I will never pre order this series again in the future.

@CyberDyme There is also the issue of how long it takes to play the game.You choose CQ for example, you wait for the server which is fair enough then you have to wait for 30 secs to start, you then have to wait for animations, you then have to wait for further animations you then have to wait for your craft to spawn with another animation with a stupid hand wave with your squad.Take way too long for the game to start, it also takes too long for respawns, takes way too long at the EOR.This game is becoming annoying and tedious to play.

@cso7777 Yeah, reluctantly did S1 to 100 aswell since I paid for it... but S2 is exactly the same feeling. Sad to see money wasted but that's done, no need to see time wasted for it aswell

As you really called out some of the absolute base fundamentals that makes a FPS game attractive and that keep the players wanting to come back for more, again and again.
...and that BF2042 is still not delivering on those absolute must-haves.
Really hard to read some of the sincere and well-meant posts here.
Summarizing it into a few but very telling words, like: It is simply not fun to play.
If there was some fun in this game then we would all be ok to be exposed to the occasional bug or missing features here and there. But when there is just agony and frustration, then its hard to take day after day, release update after the next, season release after the next. And none of the core issues are getting fixed despite they were raised since the first playtesting we went through long before game release.
The gameplay is boring, frustrating and no fun.
And no improvements being made to it, that really matters.

It's always sad to hear of more players leaving the BF series, how did it end up in this terrible state so quickly. 😕
I fully concur with all your reasons, sadly BF2042 is simply not fun to play.
Mainly because of the direction taken and also because there are way too many essential elements missing that made previous BF's great.
We are not able to play the game the way we choose and are therefore being forced to play maps / modes that we don't want to play, and conversely unable to play those that we like.
It's a shame really, BF has been my go to FPS game for so long so I hate to see its downfall.
The social / community aspect was always one of the main attractions for me and I am sure many others, but that sadly is currently lacking in BF2042.

Feel kinda annoyed that all the good cosmetics are locked behind the paywall while the battlepass is full of bland generic stuff. But that's the norm with the Live (dead) service model. I only feel obligated to play because of the battlepass! Literally the only map I think is enjoyable is Arica harbour a 10 year old creation.
The games boring, same old maps rotated every week with gimmick gamemodes, no destruction what so ever! unspecialists ruining the gameplay loop. Getting trounced on by PC mouse/keyboard aimbotting, hackers, while the console playerbase is being pimped out to keep their servers full, I could go on.
BF is so fortunate there is not a 3rd option on the market as a competent combined arms milsim light game, as it could kill off this era of Battlefield, I'm actually shocked that in a market as saturated as the FPS no one has tried to create a direct rivel (not COD) to the BF genre!!
