The state of BF2042 was better than BF4s at launch. The maps in all-out warfare are beyond fixable. I learned my lesson in 2013 and decided never to pre-order again. I strongly encourage people to never hand out their money before initial reviews. This could save up even up to 35% of the money as all of us may witness one-month post-launch. I`m going to wait for my final purchase decision until April. Right now the game needs more patches and content.
I have played for many hours BF2, modded many servers by editing some server-side files. The game has had many problems back then. BF2 truly aged but still I`m prone to come back after some time.
I haven`t had a strong enough PC for BF: BC2 so I hop onto BF3. The game is a blast when it comes to some gameplay decisions. I felt like BF4 with its verticality was downgraded BF3 version tbh.
BF1 is great. I never liked older WW-themed games as much as shooters in the modern time frame. Someone who stands behind BF1 made this game out of pure passion. The atmosphere, sound, maps, the gunplay feels extremely solid. I don`t understand the people being completely critical about BF1.
BFV over the years is a decent experience, but I would rather prefer any BF over V and obviously including 2042.
BF4 is my main choice when it comes to fast rounds, the game is still a solid experience.
BF2042. I`ve heard so many complaints from my mates about BF2042 state, mainly barebone game-modes without the possibility to unlock a grip in Portal and so on. I checked the game by myself and everything makes perfect sense. I started to grind during the free weekend... the free weekend has ended so I felt like I`ve seen everything before but it felt far worse. The most frustrating was the ticket counter, the rounds felt too short in TDM by 50 tickets and in Conquest by 150. Dunno, everything felt like a struggle rather than some smoothed-out experience. The gunplay is fine now, needs to be tweaked but to me, this is the strongest thing in BF2042 so far. It`s not like the gunplay is better than in BF3, but in contrast to what's already in the game feels fine. The game needs content ASAP, devs must listen to regular customers rather than turn to COD. Fortnite player base with the solutions that won`t simply pan out in Conquest mode etc. There is completely no control or incredibly less over you choose or play.
All of us, old BFs marauders waited for the next modern Battlefield and witnessing this, not an entirely fleshed-out game completely killed our interest in 2042. Everyone thinks right now and asks the same question - what is the next BF and is worth it? I`m not even concerned about 2042, I feel like the destiny of the game has been sealed pretty much. I only fear for the franchise or it`s a time to move on. Probably nobody reads or cares from EA anyways so xD - give the power to the game development team, that`s for starters for sake of mankind.
