Is the throwing distance of the C5 affected by momentum?

While browsing the 2042 reddit, I came upon this interesting video

https://www.reddit.com/r/battlefield2042/comments/xtzbrb/spotted_calculated_thrown_boom/

The player here (after the first glass fail) throws each C5 while running instead  of from a stationary place.

This make me wonder, is that the way that some players seem to manage to throw C5 from a really great distance?

I know that the player also had a height advantage but I wonder if it was enough height to justify the distance without taking the momentum into account

Yes, run, jump, and throw upward will get you a lot more range on your toss. This toss/throw mechanic is one of the few things in game that's working as it should. If they were just standing there without moving and tossed it, the C5 would have ended up in the grass.

  • @UP_Hawxxeye Not so much to me. Even with all that, tanks starting from a standstill before top speed still zoom away without the C5 landing. Laterally it is great, but trying to catch a vehicle as it speeds away. When you figure the average in shape male can throw a baseball 45 mph, it should attach

Something wrong with your game, no heavy tank is zooming away from a standing start.

It's a guaranteed death if the C5 guy catches you not moving, it's impossible to drive away quickly enough.

The only hope you have is if you can move the painfully slow turret and the C5 guy has a wall behind that you can hit and maybe take them out with the splash damage.
