Joystick Support
I'm considering pre-ordering as I have for past Battlefield games but wanted to know more about any details regarding support for joysticks. I find flying with them is much better but support for the...
I wouldn't call it typical big business anything... Its simply them having other priorities. They delayed the game's launch, meaning it wasn't ready, so the fact it doesn't have joystick support out of the box isn't a surprise, since that's less critical than other things they probably needed to fix. My appeal is that they add it, but I can wait a little while.
These games are massively complex. I'm speaking as a dude that owned an Atari 2600 and Pong, but am still a gamer. So have a little patience, young man. BF4 wasn't perfect out of the box (also lacked joystick upon release), but they eventually got it right.

Are you sure. I do not remember that the BF4 lacked joystick support. BF1 did, but they solved it quickly, and BFV had many problems with binding buttons. The last game with real joystick support was BF2 if I remember correct.
If they don't add support this games gonna die for me pretty quickly
I really feel your pain guys, really do... and I don't want to transform this topic in one of the many others going arround this forum. BUT, this type of "request" to add additional input method for PC (not sure if will work on consoles) it's the same for the players who want to add native support for MnK for consoles. We all should be asking additional CHOICES for input methods no matter the platform. Flying a Heli with controller may be easier on controller, but way more fun with a joystick.. same example with a racing game, you can play it with controller or even a keyboard, but it's more realistic and fun with a racing wheel, right? Sure!
Playing with a controller is challenging for an FPS game, and for me at least it's more fun with MnK. So, please add the CHOICE to natively support different types of input methods in any platform, IMO...
Really hope DICE add this type of thing to this game considering crossplay and player base preference.
Cheers
This is completely unacceptable any way you look at it . . . The joystick suport was one of the main reasons the first game was so succesfull, and the series remained so. Not allowing the players the use of propper flight peripherals is like selling a car, but the engine and wheels is an optional extra that is not available on this model . . .
