When using a mouse do you navigate round the menu options etc using the mouse like you would on PC?
Seriously hope K&M support is coming on this game (XSX) as I just can’t play with a controller.

Yes add kb&m support please for consoles. Controller is only good for third person kind of games. FPS is best with kb&m so please support.

Yes please have kb&m support for the consoles. overwatch and cod have them too. Controller is only good for third person kind of games. FPS is good with kb&m so please add support.

@xC4rbonDoesn't hurt anybody? Have you not heard of the word balance before? Or unfair advantage. I agree with the people who have said to put k&m users in only lobbies with PC players, but they can't play against strictly console only users sing controllers while using a m&k.
Input based lobbies are a must if they do decide to add m&k to consoles.
- 4 years ago@TankerFlanker He has explicitly said *different* lobbies multiple times. We don't want to play in a controller lobby with a M&K either. We are requesting to be able to play with a M&K because we are used to it and we find playing FPS with a controller difficult and NOT because we want to dominate controller users. And we even presented solutions so controller experience isn't hurt.
- 4 years ago@FireExhauster Not everyone, but yeah I agree if this will be how they handle things, it might not even have it it's weird they've been so quiet about it.
- 4 years ago@TankerFlanker The dev's lack of communication isn't unique to this feature which gives me a little bit of hope. Halo infinite has native M&K support for xbox and the new COD has M&K and FOV slider for both consoles. And they are two of the three biggest MP FPS coming out this year (the other one is battlefield of you are wondering). I really hope this game supports it too. A M&K support means more to a lot of us than the devs realize.
DICE please. The only people who are against it are controller users who don't want to go against M&K users which is fair. Just put us in a crossplay lobby and remove ability to opt out of it for us. Simple fix. Two different lobbies. No different to how the devs have originally planned. - 4 years ago
@FireExhausterEA may be quiet on this topic because announcing M/K support would hurt PC game sales. Lots of people including myself for bail on PC and go pick up a PS5. If I were to bet, I'd say 2042 will have native M/K support.
- 4 years ago@-Antares65z- Isn't xbox the official console for battlefield 2042? Announcing M&K for consoles would increase their sales on these consoles wouldn't it? Besides I guess they roughly make the same amount of money from selling PC or console copies. I really hope native M&K is supported. We'll see in the beta I guess. I wish the devs are more transparent about this.
- Lancelot_du_Lac4 years agoSeasoned Ace@FireExhauster I don't recall any mention of K&M support from those that had played the Technical Playtest on Xbox. It could still be included, but...
- 4 years agoMy friend told me that he could use the keyboard when using SERIES S in the technical test, but the mouse seemed to be out of order.
- 4 years ago@TuiskuSuomaa Both consoles support mouse (not sure) and keyboard and so you should be able to use them once you plug them in. Some games that the devs don't care adding native M&K can still work but the functionality differs from game to game. Not sure of the entire reason. The firmware allows it. It's just the devs that need to take action.

Please allow us to play battlefield 2042 with M&K on PS5
[Edit: Formatting corrected]
- 4 years ago@xXxTHE_JOKERxXx They have said they will be investigating it and its effects on crossplay so I really hope they keep us in the loop all along while doing that. A lot of my friends decided to buy vanguard instead for this Christmas so that's probably where I'll be spending my time. Will consider buying the game when they add in M&K support.

I'm pretty disappointed with DICE's announcement that there's no native mouse support for ps5 or Xbox in Battlefield 2042. It's a baffling decision due to crossplay with mouse players on PC being enabled by default...
Personally I'm not waiting around for DICE to figure out their crossplay strategy. I'm buying a XIM.
If anything, it's looking like DICE is considering cutting PC mostly out of console crossplay. Similar to how Apex Legends matchmaking system doesn't let PC players into console lobbies unless the PC player is invited.
Otherwise I have no idea what DICE's crossplay strategy is and obviously DICE still doesn't know either because they said they're 'still exploring possibilities'.

@OskooI_007XIM/Cronus/Titan will not work with PS5 (confirmed on their forums), but will probably work with Xbox X. Last gen consoles will work with emulators, but you are stuck with 64 players. As you previously mentioned, XIM will work with Remote Play on PS5, but I suspect lag will be an issue on FPS.
A lot of this will be cleared up once the Beta launches, and people have a chance to experiment.

@Lancelot_du_Lac For remote play you'll definitely want both the remote play device and the ps5 wired to the same gigabit ethernet switch. Plus using the TV the ps5 is hooked up to view video and not the remote play video stream feed because it's laggier than using the TV the ps5 is hooked up to instead.
The only thing remote play is being used for is to send controller inputs over ethernet to the ps5. The video stream isn't being used for anything.
And wired gigabit ethernet switches have sub 1ms ping times, but I suspect the remote play app adds a few ms delay.
Definitely not ideal but I hear there's a couple fixes in the works that will solve the 3rd party controller problem on ps5 making remote play no longer necessary. Some of them might even be out by the end of this year.

It’s incredibly annoying to announce 1 month before release that console players won’t get this feature.
Mainly because it was promised. ITS NOT FAIR.Why is it so hard to put an option in the game that whoever wants to turn off crossplay and it only plays with a controller.
I have a lot of friends who can’t play an FPS game with a controller and play on a console.
It’s incredibly annoying to be dragging the community apart now.
I’m already thinking about asking for a refund as a PC player because I won’t play alone.

It won't be supported at launch, but they'll still work on it to make it available.
Probably trying to create it in a balanced way to fit for everyone, since some casual players on a Console just don't like fighting others on the same platform using M&K.
See below the official Infos regarding this topic:
"We’ve heard your questions about mouse and keyboard support for consoles. We can confirm that we won’t be supporting this on consoles at the launch of Battlefield 2042, but we are still investigating the various options about making that available, and how it may impact cross-play. If that ever changes, you’ll hear it from us first."
So it's not entirely sure that it won't come at all!

Reality is that the number of console players who do not want to play with/against Mouse & Keyboard players by far outnumbers the players who wants to play using M&K.
It is unfortunate but a hard fact that the majority of FPS cheating methodologies is directly connected with the usage of M&K...
- 4 years agoThese objections are nonsensical .
Just hoping it will not come in 2042. 🤣
- 4 years ago@xXxTHE_JOKERxXx ...and Xbox
- 4 years ago
They are not. All cheats are software.
The fair solution has been suggested multiple times now.
Giving me an option to use a k/m will not affect you, a controller player.
Giving me no option, I will reach for the XIM/Cronus devices that will enable me playing with a k/m (with auto aim enabled) against you and then you will cry that I'm a cheater.
So giving the option will prevent people from cheating.
Thing like this happened with Gears Of War years ago. Everyone was running with XIM.
They where from the first to enable k/m. For this reason.
