Emulators will still work on PS5, if the game is a PS4 generation. Games designed for PS5 i.e. use DualSense controller, will not work with an emulator (this includes scuff controllers).

@OskooI_007There was a firmware update that allowed the DS4 controller to be used on PS4 games on the 5, could that be what you are on about?Remote play is a Sony app where you stream games from your ps5 over your home network to a PC or smart phone running the remote play app. XIM is using remote play to send controller inputs to the ps5 over ethernet instead of USB.
Apparently Sony doesn't require a DualSense 5 controller for remote play.

Soo..will there be M&K support for consoles in the beta?
Trust me we'd rather not play with you either. PC gamers are a different kind of "special"

I checked the beta FAQ but didn't see anything about mouse support. Guess we'll find out during the open beta.
For the the Next gen console players opting out of cross-play. Expect a pretty empty server space.
Don't forget the install base of Series X and PS5 is still pretty low. Basically 11 mil on PS5 and 7-8 Million on Seriesx/s..
Out of those not many will buy and play an online MP shooter like BF2042. So perhaps a few hundred thousand across the world. Then different time of day playing and regions.
Could be pretty empty servers or very high ping.
Console controller players get aim-assist etc. Didn't seem to be any issue with Modern Warfare crossplay, controller players held their own pretty good in that game.
- @Hooligan-XX76 Yeah but the cheating issue from PC players still exist which should be a good enough reason for consoles to opt out and start populating console only servers. When people catch on to it, the only players in a crossplay lobby left will be PC.. unless they add in M&K support for consoles 😏
Interesting! Thanks for the info @TTZ_Dipsy 🙂
Would be nice to see them expanding the Call of Duty approach and give us an extra level of input control. I love playing infantry and tanks with my gamepad. But for anything air-related I definitely need mouse and keyboard. So being able to switch between them during a match, woulda be amazing! Actually it is sad that I have to praise a basic usability requirement, which was standarized ~20 years ago and has worked well on PC since ages, in 2021 as an AMAZING feature on consoles 😞
Call of Duty has become an amazing experience since MW2019, especially since the lobbies being pretty balanced with MnK and gamepad players. Hope to see this heterogeneous way of crossplay in Battlefield as well. Still hoping for a server balancer spreading gamers based on skill level on different teams, since the skill gap on public servers is pretty huge in Battlefield!
oh so sad i cancel my preoder for now 🙂
@ZjemCiKolegeWell..rip. atleast they are honest with it. I hope they consider it soon.
