As the title says. I’ve gotten to where I just drop the queue when I see this map pop. Do you guys and gals at DICE play your own game as infantry? I find it impossible to believe that you do because nobody in their right mind would think the cover situation on Hourglass is even remotely acceptable. We need good OVERHEAD cover on all objectives so defenders have to actually get inside the capture zone ON FOOT to root out attackers instead of helicopters, tanks, Bolte, Jets, Hovercraft, heavy transports, and snipers being able to clear a contested objective from afar. We also need cover via high speed avenues of approach for small transports between objectives like sewers that can fit quad runners(inaccessible to the damned Bolte!) or subways or wadis.

@Trokey66 disagree, cover density is an issue and would actually solve the lack of destruction by providing more buildings to blow up. the openness of capture points is a separate issue from general cover density in which I do agree that too much of these maps are visible from practically anywhere. The sectors need more limited sight lines between them to help guide and contain action within sectors that have heavy contention. Hourglass is a good example of how bad a map can be with no cover and uninhibited sight lines across all sectors.

Everyone has some favourite and least favourite maps and every map needs different playstyle and tacticsThe problem is more that people can’t put down old habits like run and gun or the beloved zerging.It is more that people don’t want to learn and adapt new approach different playstyles.So lets have a look on the maps:On Hourglass you can't run and gun but some people are not able to learn and adapt and zerging all day. It is even possible for me lying around for minutes on the sand and counter sniping with GTV over 600 – 700 meters….In comparison to Hourglass, Kaleidoscope is flatter but even there you can still cross the map unseen. Btw. Did you know that this map has an underpass?Renewal is one of the interesting maps I ever have seen with the combination of two different style with one part desert and technical sun park and the experimental farm on the other side. On this map you have so much cover. Btw this map has some kind of sewers on Double Flag building under the Laboratory(¿).Breakaway is great winter map the only thing I’m missing here is a kind of blizzard on the map and a second way up to E1 ^^ But beside this you have even here endless cover.Orbital is well known since beta even with the open field in front of the rocket but guess what there is plenty of cover.Manifest is imho one of the best-balanced maps and if you still complaining here, I don’t know what you want. I would say that here infantry has the best gameplay.Now beside Manifest to my favoured map Discarded more open than manifest but well designed and plenty of cover also here. Also there are some additional winches on I think 3 Flags that change the access to the flag and changing the cover situation.So, before I forget I play only infantry on 128 player maps 😉So, your title is click bait 😉Conclusion: learn the maps, adapt the new playstyle and have funSee you on the battlefield

@WinterbornGuardUsing the OP's specific example of Hourglass as an example, there is plenty of cover in the villages until it is destroyed.

Do you want more destroyable cover or cover that can't be destroyed?

Hourglass is also not exactly flat is it? The dunes often offer plenty of cover hiding you from many sight lines. To suggest that all sectors on Hourglass have uninhibited sightlines across all of them is rediculous.

@Trokey66 literally the skyscrapers/cranes/arches all give snipers unlimited view of all captures zones except A2 and A3 . Also with one tank there is a dune sort of in the middle where you can see B1, D1, and C1 (and maybe even part of A1) capture zones from a single spot. and yes the exsiting cover is insufficient and is literally the same single story building just copy pasted across 3 of the capture points. They couldn't even be bothered to make the existing destructible cover more dynamic. Some of them could be 2 or 3 story buildings for starters and would instantly make the map play better with just that change alone.
