There is a entire PVE audience that doesnt want to bother with multiplayer. These people spent upwards of 100usd to have early access. Every hour you arent returning normal XP and Unlocking of attachments for guns and vehicles to Solo/Coop vs AI is a slap in the face for those people. We paid almost double to have early access and start grinding and now we cant.
Couldn't agree more. Feel like EA haven't thought this through at all when other games offer a solo coop experience. Been a massive bf fan since bf1942 & now I'm loosing faith fast.
Would have been nice to know the dumbing down or completely removing xp from those modes while in game at the time.
They got the “dozer” shield thing on the main menu. I saw that in game often, but not one word about the xp in portal. Like keeping it a secret or something. I mean realistically if I knew I wasn’t going to get full xp or any at all I definitely would not have even played the mode those first few hours.
If they had initially said when showcasing the mode there would be all these cool things we could do in Portal but it was just for fun and no xp would be ever given then that part of the game would have been DOA. Yeah people would have played it a few times for practice or a nostalgic hit but that would have been about it.
EA/DICE made such a big deal out of this mode and couldn’t foresee human nature or scumbaggery could turn servers into xp farms really is kind of weird and shortsighted. And then to just kind of mention it on twitter or reddit as a “oh by the way…”
This may be a controversial opinion but I'm masochistic so I'm going to pay it anyway.
Remove the XP Farm servers and reset the progress of the people that were in them. It isn't difficult. If you really want to take a firm stance on stuff like this, don't ruin it for everyone else, send a message plain and clear. If you were grinding unfairly for a large chunk of your levels, you're now back at 0. It's fair, it's honest and although it's controversial, I doubt anyone would disagree with me. At least, the people that aren't on those servers wouldn't.
What I`m asking myself:
Who the * is disturbed by XP Farmers? Who the * cares if people unlock everything in 2 day`s?
If thats really an issue the whole progression system is * - Like People who are invest more time into the game get the better equipment?
Clearly that should and hopefully is not the problem.
What is the issue for us players with XP farms? Please tell me!
I know only one thing:
I could not care less about XP farmers but I care that I cant get XP for playing my kind of Battlefield Experience (as promissed).
The performance on AOW is horrible, i can atm enjoy only portal servers.
Bumping as well. There was no reason to lower xp or unlocks or really anything on solo and co op. Other then raising or lowering the ai intelligence there are no other ways to rig the system.
Seems like devs were so freaked out that people figured out how to farm xp in portal that they shut almost all of it down.
And with really no word for the past couple of days I think this is going to be the norm for a while.
Btw coop xp is down from 1/3 to 1/4 as of today. I'm kinda pissed off consoles can't edit cheat in coop I paid $520 to play this with my family while we are stuck in covid lockdown ai mode is what sold me because no animals in coop just fam or personal friends.
@justinwessig I completely understand your frustration. Although I am not in the same position as you, I am also not entirely happy how DICE is handling it. At this point it feels like I paid extra to get a full access to the incomplete early-access game instead of getting an early access to the complete full game.
I at least hope that they will put it back at the official release in a couple of days, as I can clearly imagine the storm when the majority of players discover that the promised progress across the modes is not true.

This is saddening... I bought this game mostly for playing against waves of bots and not overly sweaty people/exploiters. Personally when I was playing it with my girlfriend and brother hours before they closed off progression against bots it was amazing, and I was super excited to come up with cool and creative PvE game modes for the three of us. Given that both of the things I mentioned and loved are no longer accessible, I feel we would all like a refund until it's added back... Because ya know, false advertisement n' all.

Despite the overwhelming silence, there may be good reasons why it takes them so long, although it's absolutely no excuse for not addressing this topic even with a short note about the current progress. Also, every day of silence and no solution is a day of their reputation being damaged and a trust of their customers being lost. I guess they are aware that the state of the game at the full release date will be a breaking point for many, so I optimistically presume it will be solved by then. Damages has been done already, but at least it won't be a complete disaster.
@eifisFrom what I've seen, They only respond to what they want or can. Some don't have info from the development teams. Although lack of communication on some fairly important subjects doesn't help matters.
