jets dont really add to the fun and only serve as an alternative to the transport heli.... or taking out land vehicles after said land vehicles have been immobilized by other land vehicles... and the pilots dont even spot anything....... jets could be replaced by megazords and would not be missed... ......

@rainkloud The problem with the stealth fighters in BF3 and BF4 were that they could eliminate all other kinds of aircraft and then they would be impossible to eliminate without equally skilled stealth fighters on the other side thanks to the ECM countermeasures giving them more than enough time to escape any ground based AA.Nothing else in this game can counter its target while escaping its own counters and only be reasonably vulnerable to its own kind.

@TankerFlanker Shanghai is known for abuse of the attack chopper.This is a combination of bad map design (mostly) and the attack chopper probably being too strong overall.Choppers and planes (BF1/BFV) are hard to balance. Any air-vehicle that are effective against infantry becomes a pain and some maps become almost unplayable for infantry, if the game has good pilots.

@frantayps I know full well it's no damn fun fighting planes in BFV in a tank, even if you have it specialized for AA. Planes and their damn rockets and bombs pretty much one shot you before they're half dead and completely ruin the tank gameplay and fights.

If balanced properly with effective point defence anti air, they can add a lot to the experience as a whole. Balanced poorly like BF5 and 4 and it can be a straight up boring experience for everyone not in a plane. They should be powerful but also just as vulnerable as any other vehicle to their direct counters. There shouldn't exist the possibility where they can routinely reach 40:1 KD ratios.As for their contributions to the team. I would like to see them capable of contributing to certain flag captures when in the area, similar to some flags in Battlefield 1 and 1942.

@RNM4010028 Awww, I'm really looking forward to seeing jets in BF2042. I do agree that it would be good to see Dice think about how they can contribute more to team play. They very often act a lone wolves, but I am not sure the squads include them in their action. Generally I did find in BF4, if you played commander mode and pointed pilots to targets they would attack them. Tools for squads to call air support and laser mark target would be a fine thing.

@carsono311 The BF4 version of jets is just dumb. They really need better physics that what that game offered.

Jets rarely decide the game. It's mostly the ground war that does. Hopefully they balance them. I think BFV has a decent balance but are OP to some degree. The idea of having Stingers and IGLAs on foot will or should balance 2042.

@RNM4010028 Jets have been part of Battlefield since the games inception, and it would not be battlefield without them. We already have plenty of shooters that don't have air/ground/water vehicles.

That being said I think there are specific things that Dice can do to improve balance. I would like to see jet weapons cause more damage, but that they would be more susceptible to ground AA.

Furthermore, jets should be required to go back to the base/carrier after expending weapons in order to reload.

i think a problem with flying is that one skilled pilot can sometimes dominate the fight in the air. If you are learning the ropes and you join a server where you are flying against a pro who has everything unlocked you don't last for long. If you then have to wait for a plane to respawn, its of-putting. Getting spawn-* on the carrier on Iwo Jima is particularly annoying - you sometimes just need to forget about flying or join another server if you want to carry on.
Having said that, well matched dog-fight is probably the most exhilarating experience in BF.

IMHO the approach is completly wrong.
I want to play an Air Game, fighting in the air and on occasion interact with the ground.
Or i want to play on the ground and occasion interact with air.
Having the current BFV situation (where air and ground seem to fight constantly) in BF2042 will make it unplayable for both parties.

@Noodlesocks Played siege of Shanghai earlier there was a enemy attack chopper and they were solo switching back and forth form the gunner seat idk if that reset the deterrence or what but they went 96-1 so fun for the people being farmed, but there was literally like 5 engineers trying to kill them and no rocket would hit I pulled out mine and could never get a hit either. Idk if it was a cheater of what.
