- lzilchetl5 years agoSeasoned Ace@TheeOriginalFox Ok, that would work I guess. I'm a bit confused though. I've been playing for 15 years and never and never ever, until now, even thought about playing offline. You wouldn't buy the game if you didn't have a connection would you?
- TheeOriginalFox5 years agoNew Traveler@lzilchetl If I wanted to play the game and had no internet connection. And IF there was a offline mode. Then yes. I actually would. Because I would have another game to play and enjoy. But, I'm not saying it will come true because I may of brought up a good point. And granted lt will most likely not happen to begin with.
- lzilchetl5 years agoSeasoned Ace@TheeOriginalFox I get that, but from Dice's pov that's a small market. Do you think they would get a return for that extra development? I don't know?

@Mephiticshepard He wants a way to play the game without having to shell out extra money for an Xbox/PlayStation subscription. Why do I need to explain something so obvious to you?
@rouvio Wrong. The original Battlefield games could be played without an Internet connection. They had bot support so players could keep playing the game after the servers were shut down. How did you not realize this?
@dogking57 When and where did DICE say there wasn't going to be offline bots? Can you provide a source?
@TTZ_Dipsy They did?! When did they say this?? Could you please direct me to where they made this confirmation?!
@AristarhUcolov2 Exactly! Tell it like it is, brother
- @ChrisAWJBethel I mean, first mistake is playing on a console. Second mistake is assuming anywhere was mentioned regarding the console sub fees. As someone who plays BF only on PC, it's blatantly obvious that those undertones are not so obvious because on the Frostbite engine, it's brought out to it's fullest, on a PC, with a mouse and keyboard, gpu, monitor, and sound card.
The main complaint of the OP is being able to play offline with bots. Right now, game is online only and multiplayer only with bots only serving a role to fill up slots on DICE hosted servers. BF2, Vietnam, 2142... I didn't know anyone who played them offline against bots during downtime. Most looked into what was being updated and studied the fixes and nerfs during that time, or were working or were in class.
Now, when servers are officially shut down permanently, that generally means there's not enough population on them anymore, resources are too old for upkeep and too expensive to replace, and it's more worth while to put more effort into the current title instead of a 10 to 20 year old title rather than make 1 person out of 1 million happy. - ChrisAWJBethel5 years agoSeasoned Ace@TheeOriginalFox No, that's a great loss. Every multiplayer game which doesn't support offline bots is a game that will never be able to be played again after the servers get shut down or the playerbase moves on to a new game. You shouldn't treat your games like they're condoms; games are supposed to last forever. ESPECIALLY multiplayer games.
- ChrisAWJBethel5 years agoSeasoned Ace@lzilchetl Not with that attitude. They work in Battlefront II, they can work here in 2042.
- ChrisAWJBethel5 years agoSeasoned Ace@TheeOriginalFox Exactly. That's what they did for Battlefront II. And they could allow players to disable progression while playing offline.

@ChrisAWJBethelComparing whether a video game can be played offline with bots to songs with racist lyrics?
Oh dear.....
Not sure how I'm an 'arrogant *' for pointing out that it is highly unlikely that DICE will change their game before even the Alpha has been completed because some one has thrown their teddies out their cot on the forums.
If it is not possible to play against bots offline, OP has 2 choices.....
Buy it or don't buy it.Online video games will last for as long as it is economically viable for the the company not a minute longer.
- ChrisAWJBethel5 years agoSeasoned Ace@Mephiticshepard Ah. A PC Master Racist who never considers the financial situations of other people. Brilliant. I see you also drank the 'gaming is better online' Kool-Aid as well. I could bring up multiple arguments as to why consoles are more accessible to people but you're not gonna listen to me or consider my points, so I'll save you the trouble. I sincerely hope you are aware that not every gamer plays multiplayer on PC and that even though you have to pay to play online for consoles there are still cheaters/hackers there. You mentioned something about GPUs and graphics cards, like graphics automatically make the game better. I don't care about the graphics. I care about playing the game for as long as possible once the servers shut down or the playerbase leaves the game.

I knew you'd say that. Only a PC gamer who plays online would say something so selfish and egotistical.
