- @AristarhUcolov2 I'm aware. I've been playing ever since CE. Ran servers in every release up to BF1.
Regardless, as of BF1 the game now falls under Games as Service. - lzilchetl5 years agoSeasoned Ace

- mrdoom5005 years agoSeasoned Ace@AristarhUcolov2 well taking a look to what they said the game will be focused on multiplayer only but who knows maybe the game could have the bots in a training area like lets say in bf4 it was small but you could try anything in it so i think they may or may not have implemented a bots only training area where you actually join a server full of bots just to learn the tactics and so on so lets wait my fellow friend and see you on the battlefield!!
- ChrisAWJBethel5 years agoSeasoned AceGood news, everyone! I just went onto the Microsoft Xbox Store on their website to check on Battlefield 2042. I had an idea, one that I think you might benefit from. In the wake of the news that Battlefield 2042 will not feature a singleplayer campaign, I spent days scouring the Internet for news concerning 2042's bots and their possible offline availability. I didn't find much, and many people posted conflicting arguments about the bots. However, I thought of a (presumably) foolproof way to confirm my suspicions about the bots. As you know, Overwatch has bots, but they're not available offline. As such, the store listing says, 'Xbox Live Gold required to play'. Conversely, games like Verdun and Tannenberg do not have singleplayer campaigns but feature offline bots. Accordingly, their store listings state 'Online Multiplayer requires Xbox Live Gold'. I checked the listing for Battlefield 2042... and it was 'Online Multiplayer requires Xbox Live Gold'! That means there's probably going to be some form of offline play involving bots in 2042!And another thing... I was just playing Verdun, and I can confirm that you can level up and earn progression in that game. You even earn EXP for playing games offline! If an indie game developer can make use of offline progression, I'm sure DICE can too. Besides, if they can't, they can just give players the option to turn progression off while playing with bots!
@ChrisAWJBethel, I hope this is true, I can't wait to try the game when the open beta will appear...

P.S Battlefield was single and multiplayer during the 2000s era.
The direction consoles are heading, you need the internet to play anything, even single player. I can't imagine the size of the hard drive needed to privately run such huge maps and 128 players with everything else going on. Just doesn't seem feasible. That's like hosting a professional football game in your backyard and expecting 50,000 people to fit on your property.

2. It's been done for decades, on far weaker hardware, many games do it today, there's no reason for Battlefield not to, how about just put it in there for those that can run it, if let's say regular PCs only in a few years can run it only (which is not the case) well put it in there right now, so once we get there even if the game is abandoned by developers it can be played and preserved. What if i wanna go out and acquire a few of the machines they're running the game off of? The hardware argument really doesn't work. It's all about control, so once they release the next game they can kill the servers for this one so youre stuck with a useless entry in your Steam library and are forced to buy the brand new game. Stop downgrading PC games bc of consoles, and stop killing games with always online DRM @ZombieP1ow I see your point. If they did some sort of offline mode, I’d assume it would be on a small map with less players
I think there should be a little offline mode, like 10vs10 or something. You know a little arena for warmup/practise (if thats your thing). Though no progression there...little timmy will have to put on his bigboys pants, and get on the battlefield for that!
Id also really like a sort of gun range, with multiple targets (some moving), at multiple ranges.
But you dont always get what you want, and im fine with that.
