I wasnt really that disappointed because i know kinda how it would go down...
I dont even think the actual game is the biggest problem, its just they really dumbed the accessibility of BF down to the lowest form of...Console games. Not to bash consoles - they have a place - but who this game is for is really obvious.
So like everyone is saying, i cant choose a map, after waiting and waiting i get into one but its the end of the match. Back to lobby. I get the same map over and over. I can't save my fav server maybe i have a few friends who all randomly playing. Who doesn't hit tab to look how well they are doing or how bad. Who doesn't wanna talk a bit of trash to your enemy (yep, you cannot chat with the other team. I mean is Dice drunk?). The whole GUI is not very good. Load up BF V, its menu and presentation is on point.
All these things, should be easily fixable. Also, why couldn't they do a system for PC and the match making just for consoles? Im more shocked at the lack of overall contend esp. since there is no single player. What about more weapons? More modes? HZ feels so empty and naked. I dunno. Great idea (but its better in the Division games already) poor execution.
So one must really ask why they removed a lot of basic, working core elements that made BF always what it was. Im not all negative - I played an EPIC match on Manifest and it was complete and utter beautiful chaos. There is def a good game somewhere in this.
One thing ive noticed: There are only storms and Orbital is the only map which has a (forgive me) levelution type of event. There is nothing else going on. Breakaway could have been perfect if during a storm the ice would break for example and change the whole map for the last half.
As i was saying, 2042 main problem is contend and missing core elements. Weapons and such will get tweaked to death anyways.
Overall, its a mixed bag. ATM.
