Mines are utterly useless.
I can’t help but thank how sorely mines are needed every single time I’m seeing a Bolt or the new highly mobile light tank speeding in and out of an objective, slaughtering infantry with the greatest of ease.
Unfortunately carting mines in 2042 is a joke and almost all other gadget options are vastly superior in comparison.
Let’s compare.
2042 mines
-Can only carry 3 AT mines
-disappear when we swap loadout
-can’t carry AT/AA
BF4 mines
-Can carry 6 AT mines/6 Slam or 2 AA mines
-stay deployed upon swapping loadout
-also carry 5 AT/AA rockets
-also carry repair tool along with 6 mines and 5 rockets
BF1 mines
-carry 3 AT mines
-stay deployed upon swapping loadout
-also carry AT gun w 5 shots
-also carry 3 AT grenades
In addition to current gadget choices(rockets, C5, Beacon, etc), each class should also be able to choose the following.
Medics - med bag or smoke launcher + gadget
Engi - Repair tool or Mines + gadget
Support - Ammo or new item + gadget
Recon - SOFLAM or beacon + gadget
These items would also be available to all classes, as it is now, however they’d take up a primary gadget slot.
