I allow him to play other 1st person shooters but personally don’t allow profanity (my choice 👍). What good is the Battlefield 2042 profanity filter in text chat when Mackay screams out..G*Damn**.. I gotta reload (when reloading)Piece of Fu**ing Shi* (when his vehicle is taking damage) etc.. etc..I could go on but I think you get the point. If Dice/EA is gonna censor its customers they should start with censorship of themselves. I love the profanity filter because my children wanna play this war game. I just wish it worked right and had a toggle for those that don’t wanna hear this trash.

@CLEMSONU here in EU the game has an age restriction of USK 16 which means that this game is for person that with an age 16 or older and I think people at that age heard already worse things.And if I’m right the PEGI Rating is 16+ and the ESRB Rating is Mature 17+So, may I ask how old your kid is? Because the game is definitely not for kids….Also, the voice lines of the specialist can be controlled by EA/DICE but what people are writing in that chat is out of their control, that is the reason why EA/DICE have such a filter for the chat and not the voice lines.This has nothing to do with censorship.

It's all about censorship now and "Report your fellow player" because an M rated game is expected apparently to have children on it..Your complaint(no offense meant) is like allowing your child to see a rated R movie and then being upset when there's blood/cursing.

Eh? What? Is this before or after your kid has knifed, shot, ran over, set on fire some random guy minding his own business looking at the amazing weather effects. Not having a go here bud but as a father of a 5yr old and a 3yr old it's a waste of time in the social media age.

@CLEMSONU I agree. I could definitely live without all the vulgarity, and wish that there was a switch to turn every bit of it off. Profanity, disrespectful and juvenile behavior is another reason why I don't care for multiplayer, these days, either.

It's an M-rated game. I understand that you're using the existence of such language to contrast with the chat censorship, but the title is purposefully misleading and idiotic

Well I'm older and heard every curse word available to human ears.. but I (myself) don’t wanna hear GD, Fu, etc..
Let’s face it.. EA can put a 17 year old protective number but mostly kids under that age will wanna spend money with their company. A simple toggle may open the opportunity to more customers that just don’t like hearing profanity.

That is not the Problem of EA they have done all they could, game where tested and then they put an age restriction on the game.
If you don't like it is ok but when it is marked with “Blood, Strong Language and Violence” you should know that such things could be in a game.
Also, the person who sells a game with M17+, Pegi 16 or USK16 to a kid which is not old enough is responsible and I think than you as a parent should go to this shop and clear this situation.
If the kid has bought it online you as a parent are responsible when the kid is not old enough, maybe nextime watch what the kid is buying
If you as parent give access to such a game to a kid which is not old enough you are responsible and not the Publisher or Developer.
