- Hudson15312 years agoSeasoned Ace@zqww0i29scya Just remember some small maps ie" reclaim have recently had 128 conquest which makes them slaughter fests.
Which maps specifically?
The ones that were remade or the recent new ones.
Cause the recent new ones being smaller is adding to the diversity of the maps.

I feel that some of the maps were a bit too large, necessitating the dev's to take action. This was a large number of player's view also. I believe it made the game better not worse.
I'm not alone in my view.

I agreed with OP. Redone maps are too small now.
I played BFV the other day on Al Sundan and Hamada. 64 players were plenty on those huge maps. (Larger than most BF2042 maps now)
BFV was the sweet spot in map sizes/player count.
- cso77772 years agoSeasoned Ace@JOGAGATYA Most of the maps in BFV were smaller than Hamada and Al Sundan, their size were not the norm for BFV-maps.
IMHO, the best maps in BFV were smaller maps (Arras, Devastation, OU etc).
In general, BFV had a lot of CQC-fighting, of which there are pratically none in 2042. - JOGAGATYA2 years agoSeasoned Ace
I actually loved ARRAS. Great map. About 4 times bigger than RECLAIMED.

I like the mix of large and small.

Wish we would have a proper map rotation

Absolutely true,
Large maps are what I always gravitate towards, and I dislike the smaller versions. I dislike the shrinking of the play areas in Orbital especially since i play it the most. I miss the stadium in Hourglass.
One of the biggest mods I did in BF2 was to eliminate the out of bounds penalties in maps. Unfortunately, I don't see Dice changing anything back.
The maps were never too large, they just needed more character, cover, and destructibility. I don't know of much of anything in Kaleidoscope that is destructible like the Arica harbor map.
Other than map size I think the game is very good now. The sounds are much better with echo. I can hear the improvements. Also, some of the guns seem to have more recoil which is an added plus for realistic gunplay. I love it.
Thank you.
