New optics coming for BF2042?

I saw that earlier. I would be down for some thermal options. If they do introduce night vision I am hoping for a night map. I remember people used to beg for a night map in BF2. But when they did introduce the map, Night Flight, it wasn't all that popular.
Yessir, I would be down for a night map with some night vision and thermals! I actually think there was 2 or 3 night maps in BF2 Special Forces weren't there? I don't remember exactly but I played 'em a bunch back in the day.
I kind of LOLed at the 40x scope, though.
For infantry this is not that bad, BF4 worked ok with thermal optics (after the nerf of seeing through smoke) and most of the time other sights were better.
Vehicles is another matter, that was bad in BF4 and hopefully we don't get tanks (/helis) with thermals, that could end up being really awful.
Gun-boats with thermals was something else in BF4...
- @Ironhead841 We need thermals like we need another hole in our heads. The light transitions in the game are already pretty poor, I’d love to see some night or dusk / dawn maps, can you just imagine seeing all the little lights running around? Would the bloom of the marker lights mess with the thermals? Might be why we didn’t get them?
Your entire post is an argument FOR night vision and thermals, lol.

You are correct sir, there were 3 Special Forces night maps. Night Flight, Devils Perch and Leviathan. I would love them to add a few night maps to BF2042.
That 40x scope sounds insane. 😃
A Night map would be cool, or have the maps dynamically change based on when you are playing.
40x is insane, what is the max scope right now, 12x?

- @xraythree Perhaps we can get a Dice-camo that makes you invisible to thermals like in BF4?
If so, hopefully it will not be behind a paywall (a paid skin for each specialist) or some stupid easter-egg (again like in BF4).
