Hey community!This is just an idea, so bear with:A thought I had was to allow content creators to be able to create decals, custom content for weapons, vehicles and clothing which would be peer reviewed by a team of moderators at EA/Dice.The process of minting would need to be ironing out, either using a third party company or handled internally by EA.The item could then be worn in game by the owner only. Imagine a trading platform for BF content side loaded which players could buy and sell skins for weapons, clothing. Making your presence unique and truly yours!EA/Dice would charge a fee for the privilege of adding content and the minting fee would be additional too.This already exists within a few virtual worlds. See Decentraland (life sim), and ReadyPlayerMe (wearables) as examples of this technology being actively used and developed.Even if it was just selecr brand companies only who could make the NFT's and players could then purchase the cosmetic item from a store.Just my two cents. @CyberDyme They have absolutely no need for this type of system. They will make billions anyway. This isn't GTA5 online with purchasable currency. The emblem system was removed because a sect of the player base couldn't help but have their swastikas and * emblems. So it had to go. Also, what opportunity are they missing with regards to social media?

That's a very slippery slope I don't believe they'd be willing to test

Clan and player emblems could easily be submitted for approval for a fixed fee, which EA could have a few low paid employees to handle. And its basic business understanding to maximize your profit that you want to keep your customers close and in your own control. Instead they are now relegated to Discord, Reddit, Twitch etc for their community exchanges and beyond EA's reach for monetizing it...

@Trokey66 that is a shame. I guess with all these things, it is priority systems only.
AI has come along way now to remove people from the process. EA being as big as they are could offload the verification to AI?
The platoon system is great, but it is lacking some simple features.
Emblems being removed was a backstep slightly.
We'll see what happens with portal and the idea of customization going forward. It's clear DICE want to hand players tools to make the game your own.

Yeah that is a real shame @Trokey66 ,
It's like EA have completely missed the train on the amazing value of nurturing your player community through social media and also using player created content as a commercial cashcow, which it literally is if endorsed and run as you suggested!

I'm all for cosmetic freedom/markets as long as it:
is delivered in a way that provides value to the consumer commensurate with what price is being charged
is not predatory (does not prey on minors or those with addictions)
doesn't compromise the theme of the game
doesn't syphon resources from other more critical areas of the game
does not affect gameplay (No emblems giving your group +10% HP or -10% reload time or rapidly flashing emblems)

@IICookieGII this sounds like mod support with more limitations.
I guess you've never played BF2 or BF1942, where people had freedom to create whatever they liked. I also really don't like the idea of a selected mod team that gets to make all the final decisions on content creation of the public.

@CyberDyme When we could make player generated emblems in BF4 it become a nightmare for TOS enforcement because there's a large number of players who intentionally create emblems that violate the terms of service (hate symbols, sex and narcotics imagery being the most common) so EA did what any company would and removed that functionality. Personally I'd rather TOS focus on player reports than emblem enforcement.

EA did however support player communities via direct support in other areas like supporting events and giveaways.
