I played almost only Caspian and Arica all night yesterday, what a joke. Who had the idea that people only want to play the same 2 or 3 maps during a play-session?
People are talking about the game being great now, I don't know if its the same game we play. I play a game that is mostly boring and full of bad decisions and issues that almost make the game unplayable.

Not having the ability to choose which maps you play on is a major let down in BF2042. ☹️ - GrizzGolf3 years agoSeasoned Ace
Got mostly Caspian last night. That's my favorite BF map though so I was good with it

If only there was a way of choosing which map we play. /s
This has to be some cost-cutting tactic where they only run certain map instances and shut down the rest, because it makes no sense to play 2-3 maps over and over. There is no way that is random when it happens to so many players. A Server Browser would resolve this issue.
I noticed map rotation isn't entirely random. It seems i get the same 2-3 maps over and over. Then when i play again later in the day i get a different set of 2-3 maps. Shutdown for example, i keep getting 2 maps over and over. Later in the day i get the other 2 over and over. Its odd.
On my BF tracker it shows i have so little time in Orbital compared to the other maps. Its as though since it was the beta map they reduced its random percentage chance in rotation.

Try playing BreakThrough - Flashpoint (and the newer maps ) appears there....
EA change the map options every week - next week will be something different again !!
- ATFGunr3 years agoLegend@Darqul This is my guess. The AWS servers have a set rotation. At the end of a match, instead of going to the next map in the rotation, it moves certain people to a new server and the rotation starts again. You get stuck in a loop of moving servers where you may play a couple of rounds but once you pop into a new server you’re starting the same map again. Too bad we lack the technology to be able to choose what maps we want and what servers we want. Maybe someday when we get flying cars and house robot butlers….
- kregora3 years agoSeasoned Ace@ATFGunr I don't believe that the AWS servers run a map rotation. I believe that the matchmaking spawns a server configured for a single map and destroys it afterwards. The Matchmaking process just puts you in the next server available for you skill level.

I’d like to play a round or two every now and then, but I can’t be bothered to sit and try matchmaking, then quit if it’s a map I don’t want to play, then do matchmaking again, quit, try again, quit, try again….. So I don’t play at all.
