But yeah laggy players are cancer and its akin to cheating. I am.a firm believer of not developing net code that rewards packet loss high ping gaming.

PC players should not be matched with console players who have aim assist turned on unless they choose it as an option in game settings.

It gives too many problems trying to balance two input methods as different as M&K and controller.

Thought as much! Players should be kicked for high ping, not have everyone else suffer!

It sucks but I notice some servers are better than others and it happens way less often

Probably another intentional feature to balance the kb/m vs controller game play to give console players more time to react and aim at the enemy. It feels like the console players are half a second ahead of time. Peek around a corner, you're dead before you even see the enemy who kills you, and in these situations it's always a console player who kills you. After the latest patch the desync has been even more obvious, as when ever I get revived by console player the revive is instant, no revive animation or the UI telling that you're being revived, just a quick ZAP and you're back in action unprepared, and when the medic is PC player you have time to drink etc. to be fully prepared to be back in action.

I've been saying the same thing forever now. It happens with PC players once in a while, but it feels like that almost 100% of the time with console players. They're looking the wrong way while I have an SMG equipped, I light them up, hit all my shots, they magically snap to me and kill me instantly with 10hp. Or they spawn on a beacon I just destroyed a full two seconds ago. My other favorite is right when you find the beacon, as they spawn on it you're already dead.

Console players really do feel like they get priority with how the network works and PC players are forced at least a couple of ticks behind them. It's so consistent that there's no way that's not baked into the coding somewhere. I'm pretty convinced that it is by design, like you say as another "leveling" mechanic. Why not? They already get reduced recoil and snap to target! I don't think I'd care about aim assist if it wasn't for those two things: snap to target and reduced recoil. Those need to go.

I feel like we need to ask Dice to open up and to be completely transparent with their design philosophy of how the networking works. Like how does lag comp work? What are the parameters on that? Are console players treated the same as PC players or are they actually getting priority somehow? Are PC players being put behind console players a couple of ticks on the server updates?

What I don't understand: there must be loads of pc players. If you disable cross play no games are filled as there aren't enough players. Why don't we pc players ALL disable cross play so there are enough? So we can play without the console aimbots?
