Overlooked issue of Vehicle number changes (yes this effects you infantry)

Direct ripping this from my trash reddit post that wont go live because I just activated my account tonight.

Hi, I really held off jumping onto this platform but it seems the most active. So since this is my first post please be gentle and I'll give a little background of myself for the sake of context towards things BF related.

I have been playing the BF series since BF 1942, have a lot of fond memories with the series, when BF2 came around I was (at the time) what you would consider a competitive LAN player, joined a clan did all that fun jazz, while I was good at infantry gameplay and tactics, I really felt at home messing around with the tanks. I took that experience with me along each BF title, at heart I was, and still am a highly competitive type player who focuses on tank gameplay, hunting enemy vehicles denying areas to my enemy and supporting my team and of course infantry play as well. I am aware people will say "ohh vehicle sweat get out ur vehicle and fite me lol" but I feel I have a good perspective on both sides of the fence when it comes to the bigger picture to at least bring up some points of interest. I've dabbled on the air side of things a little but didn't find it to my liking, so much of what I say will be more leaning towards the ground side of things, but I will sprinkle some air issues in here as well for all you flying mosquitoes.

With that being said, lets jump straight into it.

What a lot of people dont seem to understand with these vehicle changes is the unintended impact it is going to have. Vehicles having been lazily lumped together by people complaining about them since forever at this point has not only seemed to lead to more counter productive arguments and points, but just as a whole makes any feedback topic cluttered with noise as opposed to actual targeted feedback as opposed to the lazy 'general broad sweep'.

I am for changing around how the vehicles are classed, I advocated this myself on the barren lands that is the BF forums, but putting the bolte in the 'heavy armor' class is not only super lazy, it really makes no sense in concept. As a result this is just going to make vehicle x vehicle fights even more rare which means people will go for platforms that are good at turning guns on infantry and pushing through the current hordes that are present, and those who complained about 'camping tanks' (with their tiny splash damage and needing a direct main cannon hit to kill with a 5 second reload and overheating mechanics) are going to be very happy when there are now no tanks but very sad when there are only bolte's running around.

While yes at a reduced number, the presence is still there and now has 1 viable option for dealing with this platform taken away. The tank, which is advertised as a 'ground vehicle domination platform' despite being outclassed by the wildcat and having the only meaningful defensive package locked behind it's last kill pool. However even if there is a tank, because of it's lack of a meaningful ability to defend itself against 63 other players who can respawn within a few seconds, spawn on squad mates and all have infinite adaptability on top of some cheesey mechanics, ground vehicles will be even more inclined to stay at a distance and do literally nothing for the team, because they are now more 'valuable' and even more punishing to use. (no I am not advocating for any platform to be able to 1 v 63 lol) The proposed doubled spawn timer ontop of the personal timer which I'm sure will still be there means a few things.

1) You are punished beyond any other player in the game for not playing perfectly, by going X- Kills 0 Deaths

2) Your death means you are guaranteed to be locked out of a round for an extended period of time if either air or ground vehicles are your preferred play style or you simply wanted to try them out, that is like saying bush campers can no longer pull their kit for 2 mins because they died

3)This discourages people from trying other aspects of the game besides infantry, what experience can you truly get, especially when most everyone having everything unlocked, if you run a bare bones basic jet, or heli, or tank, if you are instantly gibbed because you dont have the required defense packages unlocked, and whoops sorry you can't try again for another 2+ mins!

4) Vehicle scarcity will leave a power gap and there will be less flexibility in the already horrid flow of this game, complaints about far camping vehicles will be even more since using one is punishing without the compensation of being a 'harder to kill target' (again speaking for the tank) which would encourage closer engagements and team support. This will also give a rise to a new irritation from the air side which I will touch on later.

For some reason a vocal minority people seem to want 0 vehicles in general and see this as a short sighted 'great amazing idea and update' and forget that this is a COMBINED ARMS GAME. Not just infantry. Yes you are going to get sent to the respawn screen sometimes, it happens to literally everyone battlefield has always been known for being chaotic.

The nightbird is in the same boat as the bolte, again I don't like flying but I have dealt with enough nightbirds to know they are annoying and an overlapping platform which has way to much flexability in its ability to both infantry bust and vehicle bust, but now with these changes you'll have 0 jets and attack heli's and just the nightbird that everyone loves/hates so much because sweaty farmers are going to go after the most effective killing platforms.

Now we get to the oversight and power gap that is going to be introduced. Got an issue with that beefy condor or superhind that has enough HP to be a flying battleship that carries a large array of anti vehicle/infantry weapons? Sorry your Wildcat slot was taken by a bolte, no problem I'm sure we have a jet player who is ok with taking on the flying fortre- oh someone just pulled another nightbird.... Transport heli's are going to become a huge problem, they already hit the "how is this thing still alive after all these hits" check mark, but now fewer hard armored targets vs now softer transport targets and infantry, coupled with fewer but still present bolte's and nightbirds, you have no reason to have a loadout that focuses on raining terror on infantry and softer transport vehicles. (no seriously... why can these things take 4 tank shells to kill, who is going to sit there for 20 seconds and be shelled)

How hard was it to simply make a 'light' vehicle class for the bolte and nightbird and tuning the numbers that way? I know I've mentioned this before. They are after all LIGHT vehicles. Other BF titles had WAY more vehicles that were much more versatile with FEWER players per team, now what, 2 possible tanks per 64 player teams? 1 tank 1 AA? or the most likely scenario 2 BOLTES????

I'm all for a balance fun combined arms game but when 63 other players have the ability to equip some sort of AT or AA, and have such low respawn timers the 'vehicles are overwhelming' argument is kinda lazy, 2 platforms were glaringly annoying, the bolte and the nightbird which is why pinpointed feedback about specific platforms should be taken over "ALL THE THINGS BAD ME MAD". This approach will simply increase the number of softer transports/throw away vehicles which will lead to either solo jeeps speeding off or frustrated people getting quickly shredded in from the air by transport heli's/nightbirds. The MAV moving to transport is very good but when a condor or superhind can pound those to dust with no issue or challenge or the C5 drone that will negate any benefit to pulling this platform since what it would possibly help protect the occupants from is simply negated since C5 drones 1 shot anything it takes the perk of the MAV being a mobile spawnpoint away because it can be so cheaply killed and probably the first thing targeted for that 'multi kill', which means no cheeky flanks. So I have to ask, what is the point if ground transports cant transport? Rock paper scissors is no longer in play, it's just shaping up to be rock rock rock.

I've long written this game off and haven't played in months and this sort of change and what I'm foreseeing just makes me want nothing to do with this title. I could be 100% wrong, who knows but either way I hope this at least was slightly insightful and got some gears turning. At the end of the day I literally just want a fun combined arms game with good infantry play and good vehicle play and the means for both to support each other for epic fights and fun.
