Of the first lets say 100 gunfights below 50m ingame I had, I just couldnt win more than a handful no matter how hard I was trying. And as a fps player of almost 25years, I somehow could not figure out if it was me getting old and slow, or if the opponents always had an advantage of sort.
Then after watching some youtube bf compilations I quickly realized what that advantage was. The build in aimbot of the controller proletariat.
Maybe its the boomer in me, maybe the growing up with WASD and mouse, but I cant feel anything positive about voluntarily playing like this;
a disadvantage of immersive motoric handling and coordination of controllers, made up with a advantage of getting helped by the game, like a fit cyclist on training wheels.
So my only solution was to now play BF2042 like a Sniper game simulator, staying max range whenever possible where the headshot autoaim is weakened by bullet drop etc.
Still, as soon as Im in sight i often get shredded by perfectly hitting assault rifle and even smg shots, wonder who is firing them...

For all the PC players who believe console players are over performing.
Consider that the bottom half or even 2/3rds of the console community is on last gen. I'm wagering that the typical Gen5 console owner takes their gaming much more seriously than the remaining Gen4 population.
Your console competition is skewed towards the more competitive/more serious console gamers.

Plus if they use their controller in wireless mode and not cabled to the console, I think there’s “a handicap” there also?? (worse/slower connection to the game in ms)

That said we can’t run from the fact that aim assist is…well, assist to the player.
But there’s not the same exact control of your character on console witha controller.
It’s just not possible.
So the goal must be to make an aim assist that helps the console player just enough to be able to play the game (preferably against other console players and then let PC players play against other PC players. IMO)
