I understand your logic but that's how crossplay works on all (or most) of the games if I am not mistaken.
Also, ONLY the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC versions of Battlefield 2042 support 128 player servers.
Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game, cap player counts at 64 due to hardware limitations.
They would probably have a problem filling up servers without the console folk, same situation on COD.
This should be the default setting and thinking for all FPS, with the option to opt-in for cross-play with PC players. But we should not be forced, which is the case given the current implementation for Xbox users.

@FrEaKCH82As I wrote, if I am not mistaken. Haven't played IS, it looks like fun on all the vids I watch on YT, I just don't like the player movement but might give it a go.
Don't get me wrong, I just stated what I think is the norm and I said that I understand his logic. I constantly see complaints about it from console players. If I was playing on my Playstation, I would be complaining too 🙂 - 4 years ago
It’s not forced. You can literally turn off cross play
