Don't do it if you have games you care about tho. EA, unhappy with you taking your money back by force, will close your account.
@Ober_CommandantI play way too many EA games and have spent way too much money on the sims over the years to risk losing my EA account in general. I'll just deal with losing the 100+ I paid for this game expecting progression to be fully there for single player. I mean when I got into early access with EA play and saw I could do everything in solo, I bought the game right then and there. Then I leave for a few days and when I get home I realized the game I had bought was now a different game.
If I would have known we'd be sitting at a month and still no answers and no information on when or if progression is coming back for Solo I would have gotten a refund when I was still eligible on xbox, but because they made us wait 2 or more weeks before bringing it back in a way that isn't good enough I am now no longer able to get a refund.
- MDBuzz4 years agoSeasoned Hotshot@DominickB3 If the want to keep their playbase, they'll have to bring back PvE full progression and unlock. Because there is no other game that allow bots and progression so PvE players will always come back, whereas PvP will eventually switch to another competitive game.
But yes, it is so obvious that I don't understand why they are keeping us on the sidelines. I honestly had fun on this game, even on day one with the recoil thing. Bots do play objective and don't spaw 5 tanks per square meter. - Spidder814 years agoSeasoned Ace@MDBuzz There is no doubt a lot of players have left because of the restrictions in solo/coop and Portal custom. They should be doing what they can to keep them, though they should just put it back to intended features instead of stripping them away from people who paid hard earned money to play solo/coop.
- 4 years ago@Spidder81 Damn i mentioned yesterday about Bots in a match yesterday and today i saw atleast 7 bots on my first match

14.7k concurrent and 19.4k 24hr peak on steam as of writing this
naraka: bladepoint, a competitive melee combat battle royale, allows battle pass progression in their pve mode. take some time to digest and think about this. - 4 years ago
In the end we will have full progression back when no one plays this game.
Thank you EA for the worst marketing and image destruction.

Am i missing something? Conquest and Breakthrough 64 is now available for SOLO / CO OP play, but weren't those modes always 64 mode anyway for solo?
- Spidder814 years agoSeasoned Ace@GenoshaONE7FIVE solo/coop was always 64, they just done 64 players for the multiplayer. They should add the 128 for solo/coop (along with the restrictions taken off)
- GenoshaONE7FIVE4 years agoSeasoned Veteran@Spidder81 Yeah but in the solo menu theres now 64 modes alongside the 2 usual, so they've gave us 2 things we already had lol.
They probably didn't meant it to be in there... or do they...
- GenoshaONE7FIVE4 years agoSeasoned Veteran@Crystalfied Who knows by now man. The developers of this game seem to have just graduated playschool.

@Spidder81 got a somewhat response from someone
- Spidder814 years agoSeasoned Ace@Johnathan123YT well its better than nothing but they are taking too long now to deal with it. Players are already moving on because of these restrictions
- 4 years ago@Spidder81 I was able to unlock things for vehicles and weapons the other day and even rank up in Solo/Coop this past weekend. So maybe I am not understanding what people are wanting in this thread. Sorry. Are you all wanting full progression as multiplayer has?
- 4 years ago@CantGetRight What most of us primarily want is unrestricted progression, So no restricted progression to Mastery 12, We want to be able to get tier one assets and stuff
- Spidder814 years agoSeasoned Ace
@CantGetRightpretty much yeah because that is how it was supposed to be intended and how it was released, before they took it away because of people creating custom portal xp farms. The issue is that a lot of people also bought this only for solo/coop on the premise that it's full xp and unlock progression on all modes.
Currently in solo/coop xp is capped and masteries stop at 12. Also can't unlock players cards, can't do weeklies and now people that bought the battlepass are worried that won't count either.
Custom portal servers also have restrictions on all these. So basically the only way to level up past what you can do in solo and custom is play the multiplayer or featured portal servers.
But as this is supposed to be full xp and unlocks across the board a lot of people are quitting due to restrictions, bad enough players are leaving due to the state of the game. Now they are losing even more because they were basically duped into buying the game, only to have this taken away from them after 1 day because of a few idiots. If you look back through this thread we even been offering solutions and ideas etc

Yes, we are looking for progression to be reimplemented in solo, coop and Portal as it was in the beginning before they started mucking with it when the farmers abused Portal. This was a big selling point for for a lot of us when they said that people could progress regardless of which mode they chose to play including Portal. They also said that they would have safeguards in place to mitigate cheating but I think it's quite clear that they either failed completely or were never implemented.
Personally, I have no desire to play any of the PvP modes or even solo / coop AOW for that matter. I bought this game specifically for Portal and always had the intention of creating custom Experiences for my friends and I to enjoy. XP is currently capped in Portal (save for official Experiences) so I'm not sure why they couldn't (at the very least) do the same for all other progression (e.g. Mastery unlocks) as well while they work on a better solution. As it is now, the only way to unlock 2042 assets in Portal is to play solo / coop (which is also capped) or other modes.
....that is the issue and while Ripple Effect says they are still far from finished tweaking progression in Portal, etc., the damage is already done and only getting worse as engagement drops.

A bit off topic here but I figured I should have brought this up much earlier since this thread has PvE folks watching.
I happen to have a private discord channel that I created awhile back whose only purpose is to help older/mature PvE players to hook up and play/talk/BS on a regular basis. Let me link you guys to it here, if you're ever interested in speaking with me or playing together:

I'm past the half century mark myself as are some of my other online friends. Too bad you're on PC though. .....not really into Discord and don't have any kind of Steam account. We use PSN party chat on our PS4/PS5's.
I wish they had in-game chat, especially like in Hell Let Loose.

@Spidder81If I find out that the Battle Pass is all locked behind MP... I'm gonna have a lot of 4 letter words for someone on the other end of EA Support.
I find it beyond ignorant and pathetic that EA allows this kind of treatment towards their paying customers. As you mentioned... I bought the Gold for the 1 week Early Access and only interested in Portal and Day One of that access all experience was killed and here we are a month later and we're not all that better off. - Spidder814 years agoSeasoned Ace@-NME-M0710NM4N Same, I bought it mainly for custom portal servers and solo/coop and mp would be a side gig, as did a ton of other people. To be honest if something doesnt happen within the next couple weeks regarding getting rid of the xp caps and unlock progressions etc, then I will just never buy anything EA again and they will have lost yet another lifelong customer. Been playing EA games for around 30ish years, never again after this. Spent £100 on Ultimate just to be told that i have to now play their way, when it was supposed to be play how we want.
Already looked past previous issues with other BF releases and other EA games in the past but this is the very last straw. Wont be buying anymore future battlepasses for BF2042 either, which is a shame because I was going to see this through to the end. Just had enough now of all the lies and BS - 4 years ago@Spidder81 I agree and the best way to help EA listen is to stop spending money on EA products. When they loose enough profit someone will take notice.

What makes this even more frustrating (for me anyway) is the fact that I spend 30min to an hour just to get past the queue and play a Multiplayer game. If they would only enable full progression for solo/co-op, I would play a ton more, I am just about at the end of my rope with this and am about to uninstall. I did buy this game for the solo mode that is now gimped.
- Spidder814 years agoSeasoned Ace
Wish they would hurry up and decide what they doing with this. Just had some player in chat just said they reported me, because I didn't manage to get a kill in a game that I joined, that was nearly finished ha. Honestly what a joke. I mean who reports someone for not managing to get a kill.
Quicker solo/coop and custom portals xp and unlock progression comes back the better.

@Spidder81I guess it's the same people that say you should not be able to have progression in Solo or to do weekly challeges in solo, because you are not worthy enough. Probably the same people that frag a lot of dudes, but never push for the objective.
