Prototype gun to overpowerd

Are you referring to the KFS2000?  Because if you are., it is not a prototype.  It’s based on the FN F2000 which is an actual assault rifle that has been around since 2001. 

It is also not unknown to the Battlefield franchise as it featured in BF2, BF3, BF4,BC and BC2. They probably had to rename it in BF2042 due to licensing issues.

I have just unlocked the gun myself so I still have to experience how powerful it is. The fact that you keep getting wiped by it could be perception as it is a new gun being introduced after a long content drought. So naturally players will want to experience the new gun for themselves which results in an increased usage.

But it would not be uncommon for a new gun to be OP, we’ve seen it before and it usually takes some time to get a balance pass.

I suspect they're talking about the "Prototype Gun" that is the reward for the Phantom Program (it's the BOFORS defence rifle). People have worked out how to glitch into the secret room.  

Isnt he talking about some easter egg thing? Some door at ivo jima . Loads of videos,at work so havent looked into it. But i think thats what he meant.

O so there's another new weapon besides the KFS2000 and the Lynx. It seems I'm not up to speed with the latest, been too busy grinding my way to the KFS2000😁

But if it indeed is a reward for a Phantom Program as ElliotLH​ mentions and people have found a way to glitch their way too it, it will be a matter of time for people to mass exploit the glitch and get their hands on it. 

OK so I just finished 2 rounds of CQ Conquest, and twice the top squad had this prototype weapon. First time all 4 squadmembers had it, second time 3 out of 4.

I got killed by it once, seemed a fair kill. 

Meanwhile I watched a video, and honestly the way to glitch this seems too much of a hassle for me to try it. I'll keep an eye out if I can pick it up from a fallen enemy/teammate to see what it's all about.

Yeah it's a third one that was added with the Lynx and KFS2000. It's just hidden in the collection until it's unlocked. At least you’ll have some time to T1 the KFS2000, as I don't think the legitimate way of earning it has been found quite yet. I'm reading up on what's required so far, as I've been lax with the easter eggs, so have probably missed some player cards that'll be needed or so on. 

Unfortunately, you're right that people have already begun exploiting it en masse, thanks to YouTube videos and guides for the glitch being posted on Reddit etc. 

We can only hope that they will fix this glitch a bit sooner than they did with the wall breach in Redacted.

It would be fantastic if they did.  

Getting it is acturally broken now.. I am trying to get it.. I am following how to get it.. Keep dying in the elevator even when going prone. SO looks like right now there is now way to ge it 

At this point I’ve barely been killed by it. I’ve seen more people with the phantom skins than with the Prototype gun. And I’ve been playing daily since the BF6 reveal, so if it’s really that abundant and OP, I’d argue I would’ve noticed by now.
