Question about Gold/Ultimate edition code redemption

I have an Origin code for the Gold edition of the game. However, when I go to redeem the code the product on the confirmation screen simply says "Battlefield™ 2042". No gold edition afterwards or any specific indicators for what version of the game it is.

Is this correct? Do all versions of the game only say "Battlefield™ 2042" as the product, or do the Gold/Ultimate versions specifically state it? I don't want to redeem this code if this will only be the base version of the game without the Gold edition Year 1 Pass inclusion for the previous tier 0 content.

  • Bumping this as it is impossible to contact an EA rep directly for a simple question about their products anymore in 2023.

I can't say for the gold edition.

But my ultimate edition just shows as "Battlefield™ 2042" in the EA app. There is only a mention that I have ultimate in the fine print.

  • @Anobix If you have the year 1 pass you still receive the tier 0 battlepass rewards from seasons 1-4, i.e. the Angel, Boris, Casper, and Irish skins + any of the weapon and vehicle skins from them. I already have the Irish skin since I started in season 4 but I missed 1-3 so I can't access the other tier 0 skins unless they put them in the store again, where they'll cost ~$10 per set if the Angel rerun was any indication. Why would I spend $30 on skins only when I could buy the base game + get those skins for the same price?

It is also possible to get the skins by subscribing to EA Play Pro since it includes the Ultimate edition of the game, but why would I pay $15+/month on top of my existing GamePass subscription just for skins when I can't even own the game directly? The skins are revoked when your EA Play Pro expires (I had them and then it removed them when I canceled it which is how I know). The Gold edition is really the only option that makes any sense.

@SharpGoblin This is helpful, so maybe it will redeem as Gold. I put in for a refund on the key though so I guess I've got nothing to lose trying it out if I can't refund it.

Gotcha, I have never cared about skins in a game (and especially not paying for them), so it doesn't matter to me. I got whatever I earned in battlepasses, used a handful total and moved on.
