Crossplay, 128 player game modes, and the plus system for changing weapon attachments on the fly are huge improvements. Also the cross saves as I started playing Battlefield 2042 on PC at release and moved over to PS5 is a welcome addition.
I also enjoy the Specialists snd think that they are far more interesting along with their gadgets/abilities to play as than the mostly generic soldiers in previous games.
Every Specialist and ability was built around one of the 4 classes, and before the update that brought class restrictions back to BF2042. This game was a fresh take on combat in this series that had grown stale.
Looking back on some of the major complaints in previous Battlefield games like grenade spam. Well...we now have a gadget that helps with that.
We also have guns that clear out campers. Graphics are a huge improvement over Battlefield V. Especially on consoles.
- SCUBASTEVE1203 years agoSeasoned Ace@Skill4Reel the plus system is the shining gem in 2042. I think classes is the battlefield signature that should be in every game. At first I liked the freedom and I grew use to it. I may have been ok with it staying free loadout if the rest of the game had been better such as maps, game modes, vehicle gameplay, and player counts. I was also glad to see the return of classes but I feel it didn't fix what is truly wrong with the game. Specialists are interesting but they need to be faction specific while in pvp to deter your enemies from your teammates. This is one truly bothers me and it's impossible to become immerged in a game where I'm fighting my clone.
