Like you'd click and hold and it'll charge up and then let go and it'll stay charge for one shot/held trigger? And you could only do it once for every few moments. Also if you don't shoot for some time it'll "turn back off" automatically.Could you make it so that it'll have no charge up for burst fire and full auto but weaker so same amount of time it takes to kill? If not then two more batteries that do this, and if not that then at least it stays charged for a few sec. after firing in burst and full auto.Finally could you remove the long range scope from the gun?

Unless they implement some kind of bullet-drop and slower bullet-velocity, your suggested changes would make the gun totally OP.Slower bullet-velocity and bullet-drop would make the rifle into a normal sniper-rilfe and then the 'rail-gun' aspect would be lost.You can "charge" the gun by holding fire until it almost fires and then release the button and then repeat this until you fire the gun. This can be practiced to some extend and is probably the best you can do.

@rea051 It’s pretty tough to create a cool weapon that has enough balance that it’s not OP. I think they did a surprisingly good job of balancing it on release, unlike the stealth choppie. I’d like a stronger scope, 8 or 10 power, however that would make sniping out from spawn way to common. I don’t like the charging time either however recognize it’s the only thing that makes it hard to use. Maybe it’s best to wait and see what it needs now that people have settled into using it.

Cross hairs too thick to make a head shot. The only decent scope is the 2x because it shows the charge up. The rail gun has a rather steep learning curve and it isn't that easy to use as a sniper. It's hard to stay alive because you are vulnerable while you are waiting for it to charge up.

@DaveTheBrave_USA Don’t forget the scope glint / glaring sun that accompanies the 6x. It’s not good enough for long range, which I think is the point really. A 10x would be more useful, but also OP. It seems in a happy place right now.

Yeah it's still bit too early to adjust the gun but just want this gun to be a top weapon since it is a cool weapon. I feel like removing the long range scope, having only 20 rounds and having charging would prevent it from being way OP and just a top tier gun. Maybe do less damage to vehicles in certain areas as well and carry less ammo? At least w/ burst and full auto it stays charged for like 3-5 seconds after shooting?

@rea051Hands down my favorite gun in the game. You have to practice tracking and predicting people's movement. Once you get used to that and it's cadence it becomes really easy to use.

Just always keep charging it. I'll see someone, charge it while tracking them, if I get the kill I'm already charging it again and looking for the next target. You get into this flow with especially on the new map like Spearhead .

I love it so much that I get nervous they're going to nerf it somehow haha.

I think the gun is in a pretty balanced state as is - If we were able to cook a charge though, there would need to be a point it overcharges/overheats and is unusable for some time.

I remember reading an article about a test going wrong with somthing similar to a railgun (something about making black holes or something stupidly dangerous) where the capaciters basically melted and blew

The charge would not last for a long time, around 10 sec., then the charge turns back off, and you can't do it again for a while (maybe about 40-60 sec.). And I feel the shots for burst fire and full auto should be weaker w/ no or little charge so the ttk is the same as it is now for those modes. If that stays the way as is now though, then maybe, after you shoot you can shoot again immediately within say 3 sec. and then goes back to regular use again. I feel like this is the only way to at least make burst fire viable and a bit better for full auto. And the x6 scope feel like makes it too good as a sniper so probably get rid of it.

Currently the trick I see people do is to tap the trigger just enough to keep the gun at a semi charged state to reduce the time until they can do that big single shot.
The gun is already at a point where the really good players can be very scary with it. It will be hard to do any changes without making it too convenient

@Psubond Good point. It was a bit tricky at first, especially when limited to a 2x scope. The rifle shines at mid to long ranges. Spearhead is the perfect map to use it on.

I have about 4K kills with it, about 30% accuracy and 55% headshot accuracy. I feel like it’s in a great place. I don’t see many other players using it, which probably means that it’s not OP. I get killed by the other sniper rifles a lot more.

I think the scope selection is pretty much perfect as well. I almost exclusively use the ghost hybrid 1.5-4x scope and I can still map people. There’s always the option to switch to the 6x and that’s more than enough for me. However, I’m on a 34” UW which is the same height as a 27” vertically, but I use a stretched resolution 1440x2560. I also use the ads option that keeps the default FOV when zoomed in. These settings let me see the enemy the most clearly.
