This clearly show that there should be no crossplay between PC and Console!
In my opinion the aim-assist is totally broken. 80% of the time there is absolutely no aim-assist and 20% of the time it's like aimbot.
I avoid playing crossplay against PC but unfortunately there is virtually no running servers on Xbox series.
I advice everybody on PC to try the game on Console so you actually understand how hard it is to aim without assist with a controller against M&K.

Died 12 times, all by console players; I take screenshots of each death trying to troubleshoot TTK/TTD issues. Some were super quick. Never saw a stretch like this. I did get hit by some PC players, but never killed. I tried to jump, go prone, everything, and once I was hit by a console player it always resulted in a death for me. I did get 1 or 2 kill trades in there.
@AdamonicI have the same issue but totally opposite on my Xbox series X. I counted in one crossplay game to nite. Died 14 times 13 of those was PC and most of the time there is absolutely no possibility to move or do something. Insta kill!
When I find games with crossplay turned off. The gunfights are totally different. Then there is a possibility to move or do something. The TTD is much longer.
The problem seems mostly to be in the netcode.- RMEChief3 years agoLegend@lionking7001 Yeah I have heard that. So weird. It must be their cross play netcode is jacked?

You should also post a shot of the screen showing the teams and platforms. Curious what % console players your server has.
You could also use that screen as your decoder ring for tracking platform trends in your kills (assuming you take shots of your kills too).
my aim assist is about perfect lol it’s snapping on and tracking as it should. It’s always been that way.
i stay out beaming all platforms.
i just don’t understand, maybe I’m the only one who has it functioning correctly 🤨- RMEChief3 years agoLegend@AngrySquid270 I only take a screenshot when I am down as I don't have enough fingers to do that while I am still playing. Even if I did, I don't know of a way to see what they are playing as you don't see their player card.
When I looked at the players, it was roughly 45/55 PC/Console. I didn't count, but will start making a note of it. Since then I have been killed by a PC player, but it is nowhere near the amount of times that I am killed by a console player. The biggest difference is I can avoid extra dmg after the first hit with a PC player, but with a console player, once I am hit, I am dead.
Something is going on, whether it is lag comp or netcode between consoles and PC. If console players are also getting killed mainly by PC players on servers roughly half and half, then I am curious to know what is going on. - edgecrusherO03 years agoSeasoned Ace@Adamonic Yo, what config option shows that data? Is it under the "Networking" option? I need to add that in to see if my "THAT WAS BS!" deaths (definitely not all of them, a lot are just bad luck or me being bad/outplayed) are actually as BS as they feel or if I'm just even worse than I thought, heh.
- RMEChief3 years agoLegend@edgecrusherO0 In the General > Network Tab I believe, I have network stats (top bar), damage log and network graph all on.
- edgecrusherO03 years agoSeasoned Ace@Adamonic Dope, thanks. Will have to remember to enable that before loading up a few missions tonight to hopefully find some Irish walls to hit with a shield : |
- RMEChief3 years agoLegend@iBUSTJUICE Can you post your settings so others can try them?
Just played my first few rounds of the 1.2 update.
Tracking players moving left/right is no longer met with the aim resist bouncing effect. Getting the crosshair on target feels more natural now. There's still a bit of wonkiness in there if the player quickly doubles back or starts juking (aim assist doesn't track perfectly and trying to correct is met with stiffer than expected inputs). I suspect most players will be better off dialing down the aim assist.
Aim assist generally feels unremarkable now. Nothing amazing. Nothing awful. It feels 90-95% as good as the BF1/BFV aim assist.
I did have one bizzare situation with full auto sprays on the LCMG. Recoil control was just wild - what should have been a pretty easy shot ended with me barely being able to keep the target in the reticule. I'd try to correct the recoil and get nothing, nothing, nothing, EVERYTHING. It felt like my inputs were binary and not analog. I changed some settings and attachments and it behaved itself in later games. I'll try to re-create that later and submit a bug report. I've seen similar complaints on reddit.

Today I've noticed that it's been mostly console players that I die immediately to.
I'm a twitchy player. So I'll jiggle peek out of cover, I'll get hit with the first shot, I instantly try to get back into cover while crouching and hitting my keys quickly as possible. Nothing That I do matters. I die behind cover after only receiving that first shot. It's happened at least a dozen times today if not more.
Honestly yes I will to help out

To compensate. YCC 2:2:2 can fix that issue but, you’re just canceling it out because of the compression. YCC isn’t considered a overlay but will still negatively impact your performance. YCC should only be used for resolution priority.>GO TO YOUTUBE and set yalls console up the right way for gaming. Or ask me. Input lag/internet HAS more than you think you know involved with AA. Lack of anti-Aliasing at further distances. Would be cool to have a FXAA/TAA (resolution/frame rate) option in game. Consoles simply, can’t handle the stress on the. You’d think a WISH 3070(lol) and 32GB-Ram could lol.

No it does not. As long as you have 512kbps available you shouldn't be seeing any added benefit of extra bandwidth. Bandwidth, ping, jitter, packet loss are independent. It's the last three that really matter for gaming.
If you are on PC you can monitor bandwidth usage by connection. When I've done this in the past for Battlefield I recall seeing typical usage of around 100-200kbps. EA lists 512kbps as the requirement.
Also 45Hz means 45 cycles per second. Or 22ms. In other words if you are running at 45FPS you are generally getting a fresh packet for each frame. You are not getting 45 packets 'per frame' (assuming you are running 60FPS that be equivalent to a 2700Hz tickrate!)
- @AngrySquid270 Its quite obvious to you I made a mistake on that part, I did not mean 45 packets per frame 😂 that would be outrageous lol
Thank you for the correction.

An updated Aim Assist video, this is exactly how it feels on the other side. If one shot hits, they all hit.
So question...everyone is bleeping on about aim assist being the issue. Is aim assist not tied to a controller and NOT a console or PC? So if I'm a pc player on controller, don't I get aim assist?
If so, WHY is everyone railing about aim assist being the issue if probably 50% of PC players use controllers. I would be more inclined to think it's a coding issue and the difference in how a PC parses vs a console rather than aim assist. Heck, it might even be how aim assist works on PC vs. Console, BUT, none of us would be able to play without crossplay because of lack of players. Let's fix crossplay/net code/aim assist and not rail about ending cross play. There is cross play in lots of titles that works just fine...
- RMEChief3 years agoLegend@Echo6Echo I don't think PC controller use w/ aim assist is that high, but you are correct, it is not necessarily console only. People just associate it with console.
Either way, it does seem a little OP where before it was not working correctly. If all you have to do is get near the target and it sticks to them while you press fire, we might as well make the game one shot kill with every weapon to even the playing field.
The video seems like an honest assessment of the feature right now and even that guy, who seems like a seasoned player, agrees that it is a little bit too strong. - A_al_K_pacino_A3 years agoSeasoned Veteran

Firstly as he says he's a skilled player(consistently topping scoreboards, 100 kill games, comp play. Basically a top 0.1%player)so using his gameplay to judge what you experience from the other side isn't exactly fair (including before this update if I remember correctly). All the aiming requires input, but there is definitely help now. I honestly don't know any console player who wants the AA being too strong and playing the game for you, and I don't think we are at that stage.

Honestly how can you say this when after 5min30 you have an example of aim assist going straight to an enemy the player can't even see yet? Or when you see the perfect tracking at the vidéo starting?
Yes the player is experimented but the same goes with M&K, have you ever seeen a beginer vs experienced player with M&K?
This is not a console vs pc problem it's a problem of adjusting the game.
M&k are precise tools but you have to use them with precision by yourself.
Controllers aren't precise tools, they are perfect for other games but relly aren't suitable for precise games like FPS... How to make those games available to controler users? The solution? Aim assist. We all agree this tool is needed if you want to put players using M&K against controller users.
BUT the players in both scenarios should have to play the game by themselves.
You don't have this kind of tracking on targets you see at the begining of the vidéo with M&K... Yes the tool is more precise but nothing helps you to be precise. The balance is subtle i agree, but the vidéo shows how it can goes too far with aim assist.
I'm playing PC games since 20 years.
I'm far away from console vs Pc stupid warfare.
I state that problem comes from controller (can be used on pc) and M&K.
M&K are inconsistent in this game, bug fix is needed. While controllers can track lock on tragets even behind cover?
Some adjustments are needed both for M&K and controllers.
I prey for M&K debug in next patch... since game's launch, but concerning aim assist as it's the point here:
I would say that Dice pushed aim assist too far in previous patches to help controllers while it was bugged, go look back previous patch notes they pushed aim aisst before bug fixing it. Now they patched the aim assist and as it is no longer bugged it works... far too well.
Aim assist is working now, great! Now what we need are slight adjustments to make it works well.

@l_Grand_Vizir_l wrote:Honestly how can you say this when after 5min30 you have an example of aim assist going straight to an enemy the player can't even see yet?
I'll just answer this bit because life's too short. What you are seeing is not quite what the player is experiencing. What you are seeing as some sort of auto -locking onto the player is more of a feeling as the assist comes into affect(Tbh this isn't easy to describe). The player turning is human input, and the player stopping on the enemy when they feel the assist is also human input.
@l_Grand_Vizir_l wrote:Now they patched the aim assist and as it is no longer bugged it works... far too well.
The aim assist today feels similar to what we've had since BF1. In BF2042 aim assist has gone from broken to something resembling 'normal'.
What we have now has been the standard for at least the past six years (can't remember BF4 well enough to comment). Whether you realized it or not PC players have been playing against this level of aim assist since BF1. I say this as someone who played BF1 on console, on PC w/KBM and on PC w/controller w/aim assist.

It is tho, the number of time a console player just tracks me through a smoke or a bush I can't see through is too damn high
