@Psubond I really can't. It just seems like most people are perfectly fine with solo/ coop getting full xp and progression, but a small group of angry pvp players in social media seem to be the ones the devs listen to.

Yeah the "vocal minority" are the ones ok with solo/coop getting full xp and progression.  It sure isn't longtime BF Vets.

@Zeagles21 If they had made a better game, that runs properly, and was actually balanced I would play much more pvp. As it is, I don't want to do crossplay with pc people, and I can't find a crossplay off game on series x so solo/coop is the better option. It runs so smoothly and I can play a stress free game for fun.

I play on PS5 and very rarely run into many problems, some games I win, some games I lose......every now and then I take a MAJOR butt kickin.   Does the game have issues, absolutely, but all in all I have had much fun playing it.   My biggest complaint is paying $120 for a game that included a 1 year Battlepass and we have yet to see any kind of Roadmap or communication with that.  Zombies still have no place in BF tho, that is just my opinion.

@Zeagles21 I agree with you that zombie mode had no place in this game at all, and I too wonder about how that battle pass is going to work.

Bots/AI should never find itself in the multiplayer experience. It is pretty apparent that players will take advantage (glitch the s**t out) of AI to farm XP or get unlocks faster in PORTAL (with bot logic options) than in CQ or BT mode. Conquest and Breakthrough are nothing but NOT interesting with predictable AI to be perfectly honest. Unlocking anything for less than avid players with the current game flow (because of not really great map design) in Conquest is a Nightmare difficulty level to accomplish.

After getting all the unlocks fast on the BOT FARMS... there is zero incentive to grind/play Conquest with bots back again... but obviously, devs don`t see it that way - because there are zero internal tests probably. I feel zero incentive to grind for a gloomy skin or do weekly missions honestly either. What players expect is a MULTIPLAYER EXPERIENCE in a first-person shooter. Without VoIP, elaborate Squad Management, even Scoreboard (who could have thought), global chat - how is this even a Multiplayer experience with Bots dominating all over the place?

It`s nothing else than STATS PADDING (a term from BF2) on lifeless AI!! How hard is it to predict what AI in regular matches does to the gameplay?

This IP is being ruined by flawed decision-making. It feels like some intern is trying to figure out the game flow and bot function in the game honestly. Battlefield is a sandbox in Conquest on its own. There is no need to borrow from other titles or the classic game modes will be wiped out (destroyed by no classes or pointless map design) and replaced by other game modes like a Zombie Mode. This is all we want, right?

Leave the bots only for the offline experience, build a separate offline progression system there or grant all the unlocks for testing purposes.

Zombie Mode and Stats Padding on AI is being promoted - simply amazing! AI in multiplayer (I`m not talking about extraction game mode that doesn`t belong in BF genre anyways) equals Stats Padding and uninteresting gameplay. Bots in MP don`t balance the game or anything. End of story.

  • @Twordy Yup, the decision making team behind this disaster (not just zombie mode) is really all over the place... Sticking with their stubborn design choices nobody wanted, disabling progression after they promised full progression, then the silence over the holiday, minor update after 45 days, XP changes for portal to combat abuse releasing with a featured abuse mode...

Total derp-fest so far... And if they rumors are true and they go free-to-play then they will have completely ruined BF...

I’m not going to lie, this one shouldn’t have gotten through our review process. I think our desire to create a fun zombies mode clouded our ability to see such a simple thing like the impact it would have on progression. I’m very sorry for the hardship this has caused.

The sad thing is it wasn't even remotely fun.

No one would have been playing it If it wasn't for the super fast progression.

    @BizzyVaping BOTS/AI in MULTI = STATS PADDING

and even more boring gameplay but nothing else

People grind quickly in custom game modes to find out that there is nothing to grind for in classic Conquest.

  • @Twordy Well, if people are leaving the way they are currently... soon we'll be having servers half filled with bots anyways... ☹️

battlefield has never been balanced.  it has always been paper rock scissors.  you running a medic with an AR?  you're probably going to smoke check that sniper at close range or that engineer at longer range but when that helo comes looking for you you better run and hide.

with the ability to pick any weapon/gadget 1 (specialist)/ gadget 2 this is the closest thing to balanced that battlefield has ever seen especially with the plus system to customize your gun on the fly

Im a long time BF fan (since 1942) and Im okay with solo/coop and custom Portal full xp and progression. In fact I know a lot that dont care how people lvl up, and I know a lot more that refuse to play because they only want to play genuine custom portal servers. But with the restrictions they wont touch it.

Anyway guys, what is the point of these XP points? you play like a month and you got all the attachments and weapons you need. If you’re coming to play for skins and XP etc. you’re playing it wrong I say. The game itself supposed to give you fun and It does for me for sure. I don’t care how my character looks like etc. I don’t see myself anyway. I’m just trying to understand where does this obsession come from? I’m around 50 years old when I was a child I played lots of computer games and didn’t have the desire to change the character like having a blue ninja instead of a black ninja etc. lol so the game Hass to be interesting instead. If the game is not interesting to you, it is very weird for me that you keep playing to change the looks of your character lol

Edit: i’m going to take this a step further, this character customization obsession is driving the game in the direction it is going. It’s all about micro transactions for a customization.

@JOGAGATYA microtransactions usually involve a transaction, typically for money. i don't see that here

@JOGAGATYAI want to hide Sundance's head under a full helmet, is that a problem?

One of my missions is to cover the faces of as many clown specialists as possible.

Many players who stand by BF (as a series) expect a decent Battlefield Conquest, Rush, and Breakthrough experience. Also, I play a lot smaller modes like TDM, Chainlink, Infantry Conquest, SQTDM, Domination, Gun Master.

2042 feels empty with not many polished game modes. AI that is nowhere near to perfect PvP experience. Without a server browser, there are no custom-made permanent games. Sometimes I end up with bots for a good chunk of the round.

Does Escape from Tarkov looks goofy? Devs push with their vision uninterrupted. In extraction-type games, LOOTING plays an enormous role. It is fun to play on AI as well because of the loot. BF2042 presents only enormous incoherence. Complete lack of vision in both classic modes like Conquest and the newly called Hazard Zone.

Custom game modes will only disrupt the progression system, literally destroy it. Zombie mode may seem fun but in practice, the new game mode doesn`t add much to the BF formula (I mean shooting AI in multiplayer).

I played BF4 TDM Silk Road with my mates today. Six of us on TeamSpeak3. We split between the teams at some point to keep the game fair. The server has only the Silk Road map in the rotation. A dedicated permanent server with rules, and an in-game balance plugin. One of my mates is the admin so we modify everything to our needs as well. I even played on my own one round against 3 of my mates on the opposite team and still, I had a lot of fun. Totally competitive and engaging experience, I checked the scoreboard a lot. Thanks to global chat we could invite some other lad to TS3. Even VoIP is enabled. I haven`t heard any harassment through in-game VoIP tbh through my entire BF4 history. Only heavy breathing on a glitched microphone. No AI, no changing lobby each time, same players on the server, fully customizable experience as well.

Sad times, sad times. Now does anyone in DICE understand why there is negative feedback coming from the community?

Show me anything like that in BF2042 - feels like a lonely experience against BOTS on bigger maps. Absolutely not engaging, and custom modes only destroy progression in Portal as a matter of fact. It`s way harder to find a customizable experience without permanent servers. Lobby and AI are not the way to go, perhaps in HZ or BR.

@UP_Hawxxeye I guess you suffer the same sickness. You want to cover up the character. You want….to….change….it. ….customize it.
It’s ok. This is what the new generation wants. I accept it. I can’t do a thing about it i guess.

    @JOGAGATYA
This has everything to do with the specialists making at the end of round screen mostly faces that makes me want to punch them right there and there. This is not a "generation thing"

I did not had such problems in BFV because there were no cringe lines for our avatars and we could pick their mugs without impact to our gameplay.

BF2042 goes out of its way to make people aware of how their avatars look ingame.

I would had been perfectly happy with serious base soldiers with no customization a la BF3

@JOGAGATYA It is okay, I am always worried that I am not able to properly get my points across over the internet in written speech.
