- M0710NM4N4 years agoRising Ace@thegoodcharles So yes I own it on Steam, but I don't believe there is any reason a new Origin account would be needed. If I go to Origin right now... could I buy a copy of the Standard Edition?
- TheGoodCharles4 years agoRising Adventurer@-NME-M0710NM4N You can buy a new copy of the Standard Edition but EA account itself is banned from accessing BF2042. So it wouldn't work even if you purchase a new copy on the same EA account

A question I don't think I've ask... but could using AutoHotKey cause a ban? From what I gather, bans are delayed. So the day I got the ban could have been from weeks ago.. if that's even correct info.
I was using AHK for about a week or two... due to me being an Arrow Key user and that the Left Arrow and Right Arrow are hardcoded to Look Left and Look Right and I couldn't use most of the vehicles (other than choppers and tanks) because the other vehicles would have me turning my head while trying to steer. So was able to rebind my arrow keys with AHK and actually use the other vehicles.
Ended up not using it anymore about a week ago or so, because it became a pain in the butt remembering to start and stop it all the time, plus having to keep rebinding my talk key in TeamSpeak.
- M0710NM4N4 years agoRising Ace@thegoodcharles Is this just a theory or fact? I assumed the games unique ID would be what's banned.

@-NME-M0710NM4NIf you check your Ban History on EA Help, it says "Battlefield_2042" as an active ban. Literally the game itself, therefore THAT account is burnt only towards BF2042. I tried playing Apex Legends for example and that was okay.
So a new EA account with the same Steam account in theory is the way to go. It'd mean putting 193 hours into the bin but at least being able to play the game.. I even paid for the Gold Edition and if in the future the game gets to a better state, I'd be sad not playing.
I guess the world is way too corrupt where you can't find justice no matter what you do. So the possibilty of us seeing the light of even a little justice from EA's side is dwindling in my eyes.. kind of losing hope even with mr Tom's investigationAbout AHK, I know it. Pretty useful general program but if it interacts with Battlefield 2042 in any shape or form, it'd easily be flagged as cheating no matter the usage. You can have AHK running in the background ONLY if it's interacting with other things, such as skipping, pausing or playing a song of a Google Chrome Youtube or Spotify via AHK is safe.
@-NME-M0710NM4N Okay now that's exactly what i was thinking because i have autohotkey installed as well. If that is the case.... that be bad because it wasn't even running when playing the game lmao.
Their support cant even normally answer on a GDPR request. Just got a stupid reply with questions about my problem, my email, gamertag etc. like what the actual *? They don't even read the attachment i added in the ticket with my request...
Can tell you one thing if EA don't comply with my GDPR request time to tell the European comission about this.
- TheGoodCharles4 years agoRising Adventurer@ItsOnlyM3-NL Oh wait, is running AHK at all causes a ban? I use AHK to skip or pause songs of Spotify or any media player. I've been using it for years now whilst playing Apex Legends as well. Never got banned due to it. (It also uses Easy Anti Cheat)
@thegoodcharles Well, that's the theory for now, but if so it just proved that the implementation of EAC is garbage how EA has done this. since EA/DICE don't understand * of EAC apparently.
- @similarly I have contacted the support several times but they just give me an random answer. It feels like they are just copy and pasting there answer its so annoying. I have contacted Tom and hopefully he will respond to my message

My head is spinning so bad it's not funny.
I keep thinking about buying another copy, but why should I have to? And what's to say this don't happen again? Logic says that if I got banned for something I never did... then more than likely this can and probably would if I did opt to buy another copy.
Then it all just comes down to how pissed off I am. 284 hours is a lot of freaking time to put into a game and then have it literally stolen. Then add in the stolen $95... and yea... why would I even want to go down this same road with a company that's treating me like yesterdays garbage?
Maybe I should just hold off till I get a response to phone support requesting another investigation being done. If that ends up coming back the same way with not lifting the ban... then do the charge-back and take my money somewhere else. It really makes no sense for me to buy another copy and end up going through this same pathetic nightmore all over again.
@MrGuffe I bet they get paid per reply, haha
@-NME-M0710NM4N Don't buy. Don't spend a dime any more on this company. As long as we don;t know what caused the ban in the first place you just will be banned again. Is that worth ur money? Is this game even worth your money? This dumpster fire? don't think so
To ultimately play BF2042 you need to have an origin account. I think your EA account has been banned from BF2042 across any platform IE your 'gamertag' (EAID) is burned in BF2042.
So if you really feel the need to keep spending money with EA please make a new origin account to avoid heartache. Also since you do not know why you were banned, you could just easily reactivate whatever timer they have on handing out bans and lose your brand new account in a few weeks. Until we know wtf is going on I don't think people should be spending another dime with EA. I love BF2042 but I love my money more lol.
EDIT: Why not play BF4 in the interim? BF1 and BFV are extremely boring, and despite being dated BF4 still plays really well in 2021.
- TheGoodCharles4 years agoRising Adventurer@-NME-M0710NM4N DO NOT pay any more money until this issue is fixed. I repeat, DO NOT pay anything. It isn't worth it brother. Let's just see where this goes first. Do the charge-back in the meantime if you can but don't pay anymore.

Un FKN believable...
"Hello,
We have received your most recent correspondence expressing concerns about the action that was taken on your account.
After thoroughly investigating your account and concern, we again found that we actioned your account correctly after it was found to have violated our User Agreement. We will also be unable to provide any details regarding our internal procedures.
Due to this violation, we will not remove the sanction that was applied to your account.
You can review the full User Agreement at http://tos.ea.com/legalapp/WEBTERMS/US/en/PC/
After completing two full investigations into your complaint, we consider this matter closed."How exactly do they investigate in within an hour and then still not disclose WHY?!?!
Ok... time for another phone support... and someone gonna get an earfull.
if they just remove PC FROM CROSSPLAY...
IT WILL BE A DREAM FOR CONSOLE PLAYERS
- M0710NM4N4 years agoRising Ace
Earfull given. They sent over yet another request to take a look at the case and also asking if it's possible that AutoHotKey could have been what flagged EAC. I'm hoping to get a response back as quickly as the last... I won't be able to sleep till then because I'm so furious.
- TheGoodCharles4 years agoRising Adventurer@-NME-M0710NM4N Sorry to ask but just to clarify, is it your bank asking for those requests?
- M0710NM4N4 years agoRising Ace@thegoodcharles No nothing to do with my bank since I haven't even spoken to them about a charge-back.
This is all EA. They requested the ban be looked at a 2nd time and the email back stated they did another investigation and that I was still found to have been cheating... and they won't tell me how exactly I cheated. So now waiting for a 3rd investigation and clarification on if AHK could have been the issue. - SirBobdk4 years agoSeasoned Ace
It can not be true that you cant be told why you are banned. It does not seem reasonable. At least just whether it's a 3 party software or something you did wrong in the game. But nothing at all is just not Ok, imo.

Well, sir, try to explain that to the incompetent EA workers.. good luck on that one.

Yeah console players are annoying with their modded controllers- M0710NM4N4 years agoRising Ace@SirBobdk It's a complete cluster fk. And them saying "unable to provide any details regarding our internal procedures" is a bunch of BS. Did I ask how their EAC works, how they ban etc? No... I asked what "exactly" was I banned for... that is NOT asking about an internal procedure.
Imagine being pulled over by a cop and this is how it goes down:
You: What did I do officer?
Officer: You broke the law.
You: How and when did I break the law?
Officer: I'm not gonna tell you.
You: But officer I didn't do anything!
Officer: I don't care... now pay the $1000 and step out of your vehicle because we're gonna take it.
See yourself standing on the side of the road holding a fine and watching your car be towed away.
So... now you're supposed to just be perfectly fine with what just happened?
Pfft! - TheGoodCharles4 years agoRising Adventurer@-NME-M0710NM4N EXACTLY. THANK YOU
You will not be told the exact reason why your banned because in the past many people when told specifics of their ban went straight to their cheat provider to tell them that their cheats have been detected.
The cheat providers actively tell them to try get specifics of the ban so they can work around such issues……that’s WHY!
Well, I got my email this morning giving me the exact response I expected. I don't really understand why they are writing people off so easily when there is clearly an issue. Hell, if nothing else why not give people the benefit of the doubt, because if we really are cheating we'll just get banned again, right? So why the apprehension? I really believe at this point they are actually banning random people so they have good numbers to report, and claim they're making a difference against cheaters.
