Re: Update 3.0.0 and the death of snipers.

Add to the death of snipers for no apparent reason...the following announced change for season 3 by Dice:

  • Body Shot range reduced for NTW-50 from 150m to 100m

Nerfing the NTW-50 seems really odd as I only see complaints in the forum that the gun sucks, yet this is the third time the gun has been nerfed.  ADS time has been increased, bolt reload time increase, magazine reload time increased, bullet drop increased, accuracy decreased, player hit box decreased, zero auto assist for controllers, and the second time the body shot range has been nerfed.

It was a small miracle to hit someone at over 250 meters with the NTW-50 before this nerf due to the extreme bullet drop, does anyone at Dice realize how extreme the bullet drop is for this weapon, which does not exist at all with the real world version which can move a bullet 5 miles at the optimal trajectory (thus why not allowed at most shooting ranges)...

So now it is basically a hip-fire single shot weapon at close range and a very slow ADS and reload weapon at mid 100 meter range at best...🤔

So I've dumped the difficult to shoot NTW-50 and main a SMG again and get twice the kills per game sliding and jumping around like a halo/fortnite/titanfall 2 over-caffeinated player as that is super easy and for some reason promoted in BF 2042 as the head shot accuracy is extreme playing the run and gun style with such OP mid range weapons.  My smg TTK is less than 500ms and my hit rate is above 50%, versus the 1-3 seconds it took to shot three times sniping with my much lower 36% hit rate.  I'm better using the SMG, but I miss the challenge of the NTW-50 and thing the game was better off with snipers players and not halo players like myself knee capping everyone sliding across the map.

BF used to be different and that made it fun, but just like Fortnite/Apex/Halo...sniping is getting outlawed by nerfing the weapons into oblivion.  Why, why, why???🤔

The NTW-50 is actually pretty good against ground vehicles - that's what it should primarily be used for imo (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkc5ULh0NsU). Also, unlike the regular ammo, the high powered rounds are not affected by air resistance (no drag, therefore bullets don't slow down over time) and thus have much better bullet drop

@Metal_Daryl97 Other than the sound of the NTW-50, nothing about the BF gun is realistic to real life. I just wish the game was more realistic, as I can play Apex, Halo, etc if I wanted fantasy.

I understand the gun works good for ground vehicles, but again, doesn't match reality. EA needs to be careful because a lot of players don't want BF Apex characters or weapons. For example the legalized wall hacking Paik is another Apex carry-over, another fantasy over reality. They got to be careful mutating BF with Apex gameplay. I like both game types, but the mix gets confusing at times...
